Is the turret fixed in one position, or should you be able to set it up to swivel 360 (out of the box)?

It is designed out of the box to swivel, but whether or not it actually does is a matter of choice and care taken in the assembly & painting process.

I find for storage purposes it helps to be able to remove the turret. Also, if you can't turn your turret, you have a limited field of fire if your tank is immobilized.

glueing the turret does not limit the feild of fire does it? that seems kinda lame, sorta like saying your infantryman can't shoot because he is modeled holding his lasgun at his side.
that said my turrets can swivel because they are pretty much made to be put together that way.

I agree with ymmot here. After all the model is there to represent the tank. After all the hull mounted weapon is also fixed but can shoot in an arc of 90 degrees.

except what the rules state. maybe stupid, but on infantry models you measure from the base, tanks you measure from the turret, or atleast that is what i remember, that might have been third edition though.

Well then I see stil no problem because you can measure the length of the turret and take your normal measure from the middle point of the turret and add the length off the turret to it and voila, you're done
