the zombies and guardsmen just fit so wll together, it would be harder to make zombies from the other races.(I'd really love to see someone give it a try!)Fluff wise this is an IG company that failed the imperium in life and now have a second chance to serve the chaos gods in death. To keep things simple they will be played using pure imperial guard codex rules with doctrine choices deginsed to complement the theme(keeping in mind that changes are soon to be on the horizon.)
so yeah, only human corpses for me, and to all you aspiring traitor guard players out there, it is possible to create a small army for around the same price as a loyal IG force, provided you have a few chaos bits and a lot of extra lasguns.

Genius indeed - necessity and simpicity being the mother of true invention ... but who's JK? I never wrote the Harry Potter books...!?!
Enjoying the thread immensely, always find it hilarious that people get all "football" nationalistic about using other forces... I think traitor guard, tau guard, genestealer cult armies or Witch Hunter combined forces are all interesting beause they force us to customise, redesign, recreate and step away from "yet another" dredge of mindless numbing legions of normally painted cadian minitures... they're nice, but they are soooo many.

Hah, Jacob Kushner? (nevermind suneokun, it is not important.)
there will be more of this fiendish rabble on the way in the near future, creeping up behind you when you least expect it.
and I'm not going to rule out the possibility of zombie of otherwise corrupted ogryn, but first some scary stormtroopers, only because I really like me some stormtroopers.

How butterflies grow their wings...? Not quite sure how that associates with Zombie guard armies - but there you go. Look forward to the stormies, are you going the modify the lead models or make something more creative outta plastic chaos marine bits?

like I said, its not important.
I'm going to be making the stormtroopers out of the older metal figures and add some plastic spikey bits here and there, they wont be as customizable but I think it'll work.

I was in my local store today... eyeing off some zombies and skeletons, ooo how tempting it was, but i would kill myself if i pulled apart the 82 foot sloggers i just finished putting together haha!
I think the old skool stormies could work!

it helped having a guard army already under my belt before I started this, otherwise I would never have had enough lasguns.

$170 is about. . . £80 - £90 Wow. I'd be willing to spend that to do what you've managed! Think the stormtroopers could look good. Maybe use a normal Sergeant/commander etc with runes painted all over him - make it look like he's only just decided to go traitor?

you might also want to take a look into the mordenhiem models, the carnival of the damned might look right at home along side your terror guard.

I was thinking about some mordenhiem guys, carnival of the damned for the possessed, havent decided if I want them or how they would fit into my zombie guard army, Vets maybe.
anyway, the stormtroopers are here,I'll post up some pictures after I make them look a bit more terrifying.

ended up giving my vet serg a messed up hand from chaos spawn bits and all the other stromtroopers got chaos marine bayonets to make them look a bit scarier, also gave the 4 guys without masks some SM scout night vison goggles to cover up their faces. I got these walkers for $10 each(made by a company called IMEX)tossed some bits on them and I got some sentinels for cheap. the pod on the side actually shoots a spring loaded (HK!) missile, yaay!
