I was wondering if anyone had any tips on converting a Russ into a Vanquisher. My current idea is to get a Russ and a Basilisk, put the Basilisk's barrel on the Russ and use the leftover chassis for a Salamander. Is there any other way of doing it? (Aside from buying a turret from Forgeworld)

yay im first ;D well i think your on the right track with the basilisk barrel, its nice and tapered, actually i think that would look great for a normal russ  but it sounds just a bit to expensive and your still restricted for length! now id go to my local hobby store and buy some of that relatively inexpensive plastic tubing it comes in lengths of about 12" and in any diameter. measure the diameter of the russ's barrel then do a bit of trimming, i would buy some to fit in the original barrel that id cut off about 1/4" to the bottom, then slide the next size of tube up over the first one. that way i could have any length i wanted and if i wanted to put a fancy flash suppressor or something like that all you would need would be the next of plastic tube! well thats what id do |

Heh, actually never thought of either of those.
Woz, that pen idea is awsome, but I lack your god-like conversion skill. Guess I'll run over to Home Depot and see about that tubing.

you could also use the baneblade cannon, check my armoured company post for a picture of it

Hmm... that does look pretty awesome...
Seeing as I could get the Baneblade Turret sprue and the Russ sprues for a combined $60, I might just have to do it that way. (That Exterminator is pretty sweet too, by the way)
*edit* Did a little more digging, and found out that I could get the Bassie and the Russ for another $4. That way I could still have a Salamander... hmm, decisions decisions....

salamanders are easy to make. just replace the bassie cannon with the platform from the battlefield accessories frame and then add a few crew and an autocannon
