I also run him with a CCW. In all honesty he never earns his points back and is a total waste of time and space. I only run him because I converted him from the AoBR dread.
I think the only time my dread has done something useful is when he charged a unit of Eldar Warp Spiders and sawed the unit in half on the last turn, securing a draw for me.

At the start of your turn roll a d6 for every chaos dreadnought. On a 2-5 they're fine. On a 1 they immediately turn and shoot all of their weapons at the nearest target, friend or foe... twice! On a roll of 6 they must run towards the nearest enemy as fast as they can, on the shooting phase they gain fleet of foot, and then they must assault if able.
I keep mine right next to my land raider, so if it fire frenzies then I can at least absorb it with the hardest part of my line.

This is kind off a dumb question, but can hive militia be combined with CSPMarines?

A toughness of 5 for nurgle marines seems almost unfair. Arn't SPMarines supposed to be the best?

CSM are in general older than SM. While the oldest marines are only a bit over 1000 years old (those who haven't been in the Eye of Terror with Leman Russ), the oldest CSM have already fought during the Landing Field Massacre on Istvaan V or against the Adeptus Custodes, Rogal Dorn, Sangunius, and the Emperor on Terra. Some CSM are also 'gifted' by their gods. Like Plague Marines are gifted by Nurgle. The Rubric Marines of the Thousand Sons are 'gifted' too, since they can't mutate anymore (well actually they are nothing more than dust sealed away in a power or terminator armour (except the sorcerors))
