Armor/Vehicle conversions

Hey everyone,
I've been looking around the internet for something that would be cool to make conversions out of. I'm looking for some opinions as to things to do to the models, to make them more 40Kish.

Chimera conversion-

M3A3 Bradley
I would go with the M2, but the main difference between the two, is that the M2 series is the "IFV" version of the vehicle. It isn't nearly as well equiped as the M3. The M3 has the same armament, but is lacking some of the more advanced sensor suites. In my opinion, this would make a super sweet Chimera, as they are similar in many aspects. I would remove the 25MM chaingun, and instead throw on the Autocannon. The TOW would be replaced with a modified Missle Launcher(probably two fashioned in manner to make them appear 'twin linked', thought it wouldn't be included in game terms).

Sentinel

Option 1
Stryker IVC
The stryker is fairly light armored, and is a well rounded vehicle. It has a single weapon system(M2, Mk19, AT missiles). Replace the weapon system with a Lascannon, or autocannon.

Option 2
M1114 or M1151 HMMVW
Often used as a lighter troop transport, or mobile weapons platform. It is also lightly armored, and the main weapon system would probably be a heavy stubber. The only problem I have with using a HMMWV is it will look funny with a lascannon or autocannon as the main weapon system.

All of these options would be imperial guard-ized. Meaning I would throw the appropriate decals, and equipment on there(backpacks strapped to the side, the various rolls of matrial strapped to the side, ect).

Please give me your thoughts and opinions. If you have a better suggestion please, throw that out as well.

Hmmmmm... a very ambitious project you have there....

I like where you're going with the Bradley idea. Just to warn you, autocannons aren't standard armament for chimarae, but if you're playing with Imperial Armor/funzie games, go right ahead. As for the TOW missile launchers could count for being HK missiles...

As for the sentinel conversions, I'd go with the HMMVW over the Stryker. It seems to be more suited for scouting duties, unless the fluff of your army dictates the use of armor over light vehicles. Honestly, it's all up to you on this one. Just keep scaling in mind and you'll do great!

Great idea on the HK missiles, I didn't even think of that. None of these would be used for serious games. If the player i'm facing doesn't like it, I won't get uppidy about using my conversions.

I'm aware of the AC thing for the chimera's, for game purposes, I would still use it at a mutli-laser, as I don't know the rules/point costs associated with using an AC on a chimera.

As far as size, these won't be too out of proportion with the GW models. Maybe a bit longer, but like I said, if the opposing player doesn't mind, then cool, if he does, then thats okay too.

Great, I can't wait to see your stuff. I also want to build some HMMVW for my Elite guards and I wouldn't mind seeing other people's work before.

As for the rules for these conversion, I will use centaur transport for the humvees. They're in Imperial Armour Vol. 5 if you want to have a look, but basicly they're a fast vehicle that can be used as transport for HQ, Stormtroopers and Grenadier squad of no more than five models. They sport a heavy stubber and have acces to some IG tank upgrades (sadly, HK missile aren't included )...
