I'm planning to paint a few skaven on the side while I'm working on my Imperial Guard (so yeah, to spice up painting hordes of Guardsmen i'm turning to Skaven... I'm kinda stupid that way), and figured that I might as well get a few games in as well to get a feel for 'em on the table. This is what I've come up with:
CHARACTERS[/u] @ 574
Warlord @ 211
Fellblade, Talisman of Protection, heavy armour, warplock pistol
Chieftain BSB @ 149
Storm Banner, heavy armour
Master Moulder @ 119
Brass Orb, great weapon
Warlock Engineer @ 95
2 Dispel Scrolls
I tried a Grey Seer build, but he's simply too expensive for my tastes so instead I went with a leadership build with a few surprises. The Orb was included on a whim as I wanted to get some sneakyness in there, but I'm open to suggestions. The Storm Banner is there to restrict enemy movement and protect my Rat Ogres and Giant until the enemy gunners can be introduced to Mr. & Mrs. Poisoned Claw... also I'm painting them with a nighttime look, so it seems appropriate ('twas a dark and stormy night...).
CORE[/u] @ 640
28 Clanrats (standard & musician) @ 155
Light armour, shields
30 Clanrats (standard & musician) @ 225
Light armour, shields, Ratling Gun
4 Giant Rat Packs @ 120
20 Slaves @ 40
20 Slaves @ 40
3 Poison Wind Globadiers @ 30
3 Poison Wind Globadiers @ 30
Plan A is to send in a lot of rats. Plan B is ... see Plan A. The Ratling goes on the unit not meant for the characters, and there's a reason for that: I plan to hide it behind the Giant if possible, and if the gun is attached to the general's unit, I'd have to stick the Giant next to it as well which is kinda pointless. Attaching it to the other unit gives me much more flexibility in my deployment. Neek-neek!
SPECIAL[/u] @ 445
3 Rat Ogres @ 150
15 Plague Monks (musician) @ 125
Additional hand weapons
5 Gutter Runner Tunnellers @ 85
Dual poisoned hand weapons
5 Gutter Runner Tunnellers @ 85
Dual poisoned hand weapons
Rat Ogres suck I know, but with the Storm Banner in play and Giant to draw fire, and the Master Moulder to babysit them, they'll hopefully do... something. If not, I guess they'll be demoted to unit fillers... regarding the bare-bones Plague Monks, kitting out a frenzied and rather frail unit (unarmoured T4 doesn't constitute tough) seems stupid so I chose not to. They're mostly in here for the Censer Bearers.
RARE[/u] @ 341
Giant @ 205
8 Plague Censer Bearers @ 136
Causes terror and doesn't run at the first sign of trouble? Sign me up! The Censers' job is to b-slap anything in their vicinity six ways from Sunday ... but you already knew that.
TOTAL[/u]: 2,000 points
Basically I'm after a fun and varied list capable of outnumbering and -manouvering the enemy, and I want a few tricks up my sleeve too. I'm worried that I might be a bit short on numbers, but on the other hand I do have a healthy number of hard-hitters... What do you think?

Oh, and in case anyone's interested in what constitutes a nighttime look, here's my test minis:
Plague Monk
Rat Ogre
Neek-neek!
