This is the thread I'll be putting all my crazy experimental equipment conversions from now on. I try not to go overboard with things, rather i try to refine the basic shapes to get the effect I'm after... (Eg, the Mk III Lascarbine is mostly cutting bits off of the normal lasgun...) IndexClick pics to go to the relevant post!(Tutorials can be found in each post, under the images) W.I.P. Mk III LascarbineThis is what I'll be giving my drop troops, when I've worked out how to make proper gravshutes.... Construction: YOU WILL NEED: - A Cadian lasgun (or a catachan one, I suppose could work)
- A sharp craft/hobby/x-acto/whetever knife
- The plastic packaging off a blister pack, or a clear plastic box that comes in GW boxed sets
- Superglue
Cut away the sight that runs down the the top of the lasgun. Cut away the body of the lasgun just past the second 'hump' (that the sight ran 'through, actually). Cut a small length of blister pack to run along the top, then superglue it on (poly cement won't work). Once dry, file/cut/gnaw/grind away the strip of plastic so it's flush with the lasgun. (This just makes it look much better imo) Then, basically, cut the whole barrel off of the lasgun, but chop off the end of it, and just glue the end back on. Bish, bash, bosh, one lascarbine If anything's unclear, or if I can help with anything else, drop me a PM.

Oh Lawd. You need to produce something bad. Now. Our egos need to grow too...

This is a pretty good thread, Rewolf! I like it. The gun is very cool looking, and it's a great way to personalize your guard army - customized stardard weapons!

How-to? Might consider using them, but as-is I'll stick with Kantreal pattern shorts and lasgun/bolter conversions for my mercs.

My guess is just whack everything off before the sights, cut the little barrel off, paste on gun. Profit.

Very similar to what I did for a converted drop troop squad I am in process of doing. I will have to post pics of mine. My guns replace the las pattern barrel end with a short length of 1/16" aluminum tubing and use a slightly resculpted grab handle from the vehicle sprues for the top bar. They look rather like autoguns.

'Virtus' Experiemental GravShuteThe Virtus was an experiment conducted by the Adeptus Mechanicus into modifying the Astartes powerpack chassis to house a anti-grav generator and stablisers. The project was a limited success, and, data obtained, the Virtus was locked away in one of Mars' countless dark, frozen vaults. See the gravshute post here for construction

'Stribog' Grav-ShuteBuilding on the experiences of the Virtus, the stribog is the culmination of a project to combine Astartes-based equipment with standard grav-shutes. Refinements in the design allowed for highpower antigrav units to be safely placed inside the backpack chassis without dramaticalyl increasing the weight. First used by the 155th, the shutes were used to land multiple stormtrooper squads in the ceremonial gardens of a rebelling planetary govenor's mansion, whilst platoons rapelled into the building from Valkyries hovering overhead. The surprise attack from the gardens enabled the stormtroopers to quickly eliminate the guards camped outside. Constr: As the other backpack, 'cept with mroe chopped off and SM pouches added. And a SM missile launcher handle on the top.

nice grav shutes, and don't feel too bad, those pictures are much closer than most people can see with their own eyes, I'm sure at the right scale they look excellent.

I will stab you with a plastic spoon if you don't stop babbling about how bad your painting is. You are slowly strangling my ego... Great job on the packs though
