Hey guys! long time no see.
I have begun collecting Lizard men and would appreciate any suggestions you guys might have.
for a core force i was thinking the battaliaon box set with an extra box set of Saurus warriors along with a skink chief and a skink priest. what you think?
i would have two blocks of twenty Saurus warriors. two twelve man units of skinks along with eight cold one riders.
also should i give skinks the blowpipes or the javalins?
thanks for the help.

Ok my first skinks what you think? i apolagize also as camera quality wasent the best. i added gloss to him and it looks crap. this one is only included cause accidental flash shows some of the highlights better I was going for an orange theme with alot of darkened bone for weapons instead of metal as i belive most weapons made by a race like the skink would be somewhat primative.

Your skinks look good. I started Lizardmen about seven months ago, and I've got to say, they are amazing. I converted up a Scar-Veteran on a Cold One out of their battalion box, and she has won games for me. Skinks are amazing if you use them right. The two best things I've found for them are screening my Saurus warriors, as in running in first to fire blowguns or throw javelins, while the Saurus blocks march up behind them, and infiltrating out of water features. It's an ugly thing to have multiple blocks of Skinks 12" away from where you start, and if you get the first turn, peppering with fire and then choosing charge response: flee will tick your opponents right off, especially when they rally due to Cold-blooded rule and get to do it again. The rest of the army gets to advance unmolested if you remain annoying enough.
The Cold One Riders are amazing. The banners they can use, and the sheer number of attacks they make because of their mounts, they break games wide open. My usual banner is the Sun Standard of Chotec, which gives -1 to all shooting rolls made against them. My usual opponent has been Empire, and sometimes a gun line just has to die. With the Standard, and the -1 for stand and shoot, and the -1 for long range, his best gunmen are hitting on 6's, and that's just great. If I was facing anyone else, I'd take the +d6" charge one, as that just seems like the perfect investment, especially if there's any chance of coming up short.
One last thing to say about the Scar-Veteran: BLAZING SWORD OF CHOTEC, YES! When combined with their strength, -4 to saves. Minus four! For 25 points, it might as well not give your opponent a save at all!

The new book owns and the "super" weapon is amazing. ive collected quite a collection of big beasties with it. Keep the core of saurus. they win me games. cut the cold one riders to 5 and use one of the extras to make a scar-vet/oldblood. I run an oldblood, light armor, enchanted shield, blade of realities, cold one. gives him and really good save (-1) and immense offensive ability. gotta watch things that ignor armor seeing how i dont have a ward/regen. I love the new book over the old one immensly.

I've been a Lizardmen player for a while as well. Those models are looking really good!

blowpipes always.
with the ability to poison on 6s has always been a great asset.
my brother prides on seeing my Warriors of Choas army slowly wither because of poison.
