Well to awnser the earlier question about "copying" I would'nt be able to even if I wanted. I dont have the 20k for an injection mold system or money for the cost of machining dies, so sprues are out of the question, however a slightly similar cast is way easier to accomplish.
Oh and the reason GW is so high is that their dies for sprues and such only last about 10,000 casts if they are really lucky.A new die is about 1,500 dollars in mateirial and machining if its done in house and about 7,500 if they get a shop to do it.
Then there is the cost of the Injection system, and unless they want to make only a couple of products then i'd say they probably have 9 or 10 which break alot.
