How to Beat Tau in a few easy steps: 1. Put your models on the table as though you were getting ready to play a game of Warhammer. 2. Have your opponent do the same. 3. Share a story together, full of good humor, to get things started off right. 4. Shake hands- its all fun and games. 5. OUTFLANK THE TAU AND CARVE OUT THEIR BLUE HEARTS SO THAT THEY MUST RACE THE VERY LAST FLEETING MOMENTS OF THEIR MISERABLE XENOS LIVES TRYING TO UTTER THE WORDS, "Greater Good", WHICH WILL UNDOUBTEDLY SOUND LIKE "Gre..goo...". LEAVE NO ONE ALIVE. 6. Shake your opponent's hand and pack up your things. 7. Comfort your opponent if he is crying. woooooo, you done it now homeboy!!!! *bends you over violently and lubes up the pulse rifle* lol, jokes, Tau is definetly outtgunned by the imperial guards on 5th ed.

Holy MOly, I've spoken too soon before about "Tau are easy"! I've finally fought Tau for the first time the other day with my guards. Damn it's really quite difficult with their long range and strong weapons! Especially cause my Krieg list is pretty close to the fluff, which means I don't have any infiltration or flanking units. Casualities were horrific cause my infantry have to charge in by foot!

Load up on Valks and Hydra the Tau hate you for it.

I've always found that with Tau if I use a few Ratling squads I can pick off a lot of fire warriors rather easily and with the pinning rules they don't get much chance to shoot back before I fire more rounds at them.

I fought Tau last night. I do have to say that damn cloak pod gets very annoying fast. I had two Leman russes and they both lived. I used lots of ordinace against them. Basilisks and a Master of ordinance. Took out a battle suit squad with the Earthshaker on the very first turn. I have another doomsday device for Tau. Its called an eversor assassin.
