Got your attention? Hey is it legal to use both a Chaos Deamon codex and a Chaos Space Marine codex in a game? Example: In the Chaos Space Marine codex it said a Deamon Prince is an HQ but in the deamon codex it said a deamon prince is a heavy support unit. Can you say i want that to be a Heavy support unit or vice versa I want it to be a HQ as long as you have the 2 codex's?

I myself own Skulltaker for just such occasions.

Actually you can mix the two codex into a legal army.
You have to have two army lists though.
The first list is for C-Smurfs and a second for the other Deamon army. Both have to follow the force organization for their army and have their own HQ and two troop choices.
You won't be tournament legal as that has to be a single list and not a dual army (IG allies/Smurf Inq does not count) list. However, just playing with friends you can do what you want.
Usually you see folks doing this for larger point games (2K-3K). Then as always Apoc is its own animal and you can do whatever you want. No "Army" list of force org.

As dude said, it is completely legal, as long as you agree with you opponent before hand for two army groups

Don't forget in games that are not APOC sized you can do what you want with the armies as long as your opponent agrees to it.
It isn't like you are running a Lash/Grey knight Terminator list afterall.

Never mix codexes (with a few exeptions, ofcourse).
Though, you could play the two lists as example;
Army 1: Chaos Space Marines 1000pts, 1 HQ unit and the two needed troop choises and something else into the list.
Army 2: Daemons: 750pts, 1 HQ unit and the two needed troop choises and something else into the list..
So, basicly your playing TWO armies (and two FOC) against his one. Legal with your enemies aproval. Though you can't take Deamon Prince as Heavy support for normal Chaos Space Marines.
