Here is my current Eldar army, still working some kinks out of it, thinking of putting missile launchers with my gardians and tweaking the loadout on my wave serpent a bit, any thoughts? edit-decided to go ahead and give my gardians a missile launcher platform, it just makes more sense to arm them with a weapon that can fill two rolls, plus a plasma missle causes pinning, nice!
-HQ-
Autarch with powerweapon and fusiongun=90
Farseer with a singing spear and spirit stones with the psychic powers doom and guide=123
4 warlocks upgraded to spiritseers all with destructor=164
-troops-
10 gardians with missile launcher and 1 warlock upgraded to spiritseer with singing spear and conceal=129
10 gardians with missile launcher and 1 warlock upgraded to spiritseer with singing spear and conceal=129
9 rangers upgraded to pathfinders=216
10 dire avengers with exarch armed with 2 shuriken catapults and blade storm=152
10 dire avengers with exarch armed with diresword and blade storm=157

hmm well i for one never ever use guardians... avengers are just so much better.. i would also try to find away to fit in another war walker or 2.. or a falcon. warwalkers are just useless in 1 man squads.

I think I'll be keeping the guardians for the weapon support and the warlocks because I think they will be usefull as a moble gunline to support my avengers as they close in for the kill, one squad popping out of the wave serpent with the autarch and using bladestorm before fleeting in for the kill while the farseer guides the other squad of avengers and dooms thier target(possibly while unleashing another bladestorm...)
the warwalker will flank and try to pop a tank or two before diverting fire away from my main attack and the warithlord will close in and attack what ever gets in my way.
if I expand this army any further I'll get a few more walkers maybe another squad of avengers and possibly another wraithlord...I'll need to get some elites too I guess...but I'm not too keen on any of the other aspect warriors...

hmm dark reapers maybe?? they are wonderful little guys when it comes time to crack open power armor.. banshees with a farseer with doom is real nasty.. really makes up for that str 3... wraith guard are wonderful when it comes to hunting tanks.. or monoliths trust me on that.. oh and path finders. i never leave home without at least 5 of them.. 2+ cover save and 3 chances to ignore armor saves?? what else could a guy want from a couple of elves?

yes, pathfinders! I have nine of them,
the eldar rangers are the reason why I started Eldar.

Hi Ymmot, First up, who do you face most?
Plasma Missiles are awesome for outranging and pinging Tau fire warriors and pathfinders, but the two guardian squads are fairly weak otherwise. The problem with a 12" gun is that you will only ever use it on the way in on the charge - there is little other use for it. Against fast assaulter your Eldar will die - they're overpriced guardsmen with glorified bolt pistols effectively...
Soooo, what would I take? Transports. The combination of the Waveserpent and Dire Avenger is well respected. Including a bladestorm is worthwhile, effectively you can:
Move up 12" and drop off 10 DA. 30 bladestorm shots later, whatever was 18" away isn't. Savvy out the return fire behind your 4+ saving throw tank. Jump back in the waveserpent and move 12"-24" out of trouble. (Thus undoing the vulnerability of the bladestorm reload, as their tucked up in a tank. Redirect, rinse and repeat.
Second, why are you wasting all those points on having everyone with spiritseer? You only have one Wraithlord and he only needs one spiritseer near him and can function most of the time without one. You've wasted 30pts on something you'll not use.
Thirdly: Swap the Wraithlord and the Warwalker weaponry. The twin scatter laser is both brilliant , cheap and effective. Warwalkers are too feeble to field the big guns and survive beyond turn one. They get one jump out attack, and with only a 4+ to hit will probably miss. Then they'll die. The scatter laser is cheap enough (and low key enough) to not warrant the big guns.
The Wraithlord is a bullet magnet, who is a T8 monstous creature with S10 who ignores cover saves - he shouldn't be targetting troops anyway but tanks and other monstrous creatures.
As a monstrous creature he can fire TWO heavy weapons per turn while moving - and you gave him two flamers! Just like Carnifi, its easy to get carried away with their close combat potential without realising that no self respecting player is going to allow you within 12" of any unit but a sacrificial one.
Therefore something like a Eldar Missile Launcher and a Bright Lance make for a great combination. The Missile Luncher is strong enough to complement the firepower of the brightlance and will help with multiple lighter vehicles (while still being cheap) and it will also keep you in the fight if you cannot get within range. Always equip with twin flamers as the reroll to wound before charging in with three attacks will help 'clear the way' for tank charges...
Finally, why all the warlocks??
Part of my tactics is always to force difficult choices on the opponent, while maximising my options... The seer council without a transport will die very quickly - better off on Jetbikes (where they are T4 with a reollable invulnerable save and a rerollable 3+ cover save many times). The multiple warlocks are one thing - destructor is cool - but without the transport or speed of jetbikes no-one will let your seer council anywhere near their army!
The final final thing I'll say is where are your elites and fast attack. Without aspects to challenge or deep strike or flank you're playing a gunline with the worst gunline army (too many 12" ranges to be effective), from experience I've taken Devilin at pathfinder apart on many an occassion with rapid firing lasguns...
Get a huge Striking Scorpion Squad and flank! Deep Strike with Warp Spiders or lasblasting swooping hawks!
Eldar are one of the most varied and powerful armies in 40k (Jervis Johnson recently said that the codeci with the 12% advantage are the New Ork codex and Eldar - ELDAR?!?
Oh and buy some jetbikes!

lots to think about, thank you!
I've been thinking about changing the wraithlord's weapon loadout for awhile and I think you have convinced me
holding out on jetbikes for now because of the rumored new jetbike models they gave us a peek of awhile back(rumor has it they might be released with planet strike!)
I don't need so many spiritseers I suppose I got carried away, I have a lot of warlocks because I love em, same with the commissars in my IG...so they will probably stay but I may need to get them a transport...
the warwalker with bright lances is probably going to end up in a squadron and be used to flank to keep them safe until I need them...but 6 lances might be overkill...also thought about bringing out the scatter laser option...
I fight MEQs and tau as my main opponents with some deamons potentially popping up pretty quick here
gardians will be a moving line with one squad of avengers in the middle, avengers use their superior range while gardians fire their heavy weapon until they are with in range for the avengers to assault and the gardians to take advantage of their assault2 s4 weaponry...at this point the avengers would have used blade storm in the pervious turn so they would fleet to close in with the enemy
I'm probably going to get another wraithlord because I am all about the warlocks, seers, and wraithlords...that is part of the appeal of eldar to me...
the gardians seem to complelment the theme I am going for, as do the rangers
the dire avengers are pretty cool in a sorta ancient greek kind of way...
the other aspect warriors... this one is tough because I am not so much a fan of the models(though I am sure I would change my mind if I even saw them in person)
I like the idea of harlequins but they look like a bad acid trip and the models kinda make me want to puke...
striking socrpions are the least offensive I think... but banshees would probably be better for MEQs.
fire dargons might work...but I'd need another transport for sure.
oh and wraithguard...$15 each for a retarded wraithlord baby? no thank you.
