'Bout time DE get a new codex, jeez.
Is it heresy to say they probably needed it more than IG?

Space Wolves are directly next, then Dark Eldar. Necron are in Q4 of '09, and they need a new Codex desperately, as well. The Ork Horde build decimates me in every game.

I'd have to say the necrons deserve a new codex the most. They need codex creep bad, if you ask me. But...mmmm...Dark Eldar are almost as deserving. I hope this news doesn't disappoint.

Nicholasakira, I didn't expect you to be so sympathetic to your S&M kin... The necrons don't need a new 'dex, so much as a big errata to address issues w/ newer 'dexes... free download, mmmm.....

They're all a bunch hedonistic perverts, but an eldar is an eldar. Scary looking warriors too and the new artwork looks killer. Their resemblance to the Dark Elves is also uncanny.

as a child of the late 80s and early 90s, I remember when the dark eldar looked scary and cool...
now they look a bit like silly cartoon villains, but I still like them because they are a bunch of hedonistic perverts...
they have no goal other then the complete fulfillment of their greedy desires, they fight and kill simply for their own personal gain and ultimately they have no loyalties what so ever...
their just a bunch of selfish pricks...
and for some sick reason that is what I find appealing about them as an army.

Only problem I have with them is they seem a bit too much like the Emperor's Children and other followers of Slaanesh. Which makes the fluff weird in that they're trying to AVOID Slaanesh.

They created Slaanesh, so yeah thier behavior is similar... so they just do what they've been doing and try to avoid death for as long as possible by havesting the lifeforce of others to avoid eternal suffering in the warp by becoming finger puppets of Slaanesh.
beware the finger puppets of slaanesh!

I think the Dark Eldar codex arrived at the same time as 3rd edition of WH40K. There could have been an upgrade sometime but it hasn't stuck to my mind at all.
Although if the new dex and minis seems cool I'll consider a small raiding force.
And I wonder where Slaanesh puts his fingers....
