Dinner and a movie, some place nice, very pricey. Its impressive! Some place french too, nothing is more skilled at making food than a frenchman! lol. Then go see sweeney todd! Its twisted and good fun. I suggest something special as well.. A candy...a candy...ummh, candy hammer and sickle!!! Give the gift of Communism! Eternal love!

Takes planning to spoil yer special someone. Last year I found that Styx was playing at the San Diego Hard Rock Cafe around that date, and I spent $250 on a dinner and concert package.
And she has known since she met me that I have always hated Styx. But it was her night, and we had a great time.
We're both in our 40's and have kids with busy lives, jobs, mortage, etc... so going out for dinner and a concert was a waaaay cool change from anything we normally consider doing.
Just an idea.

You are focusing on the $$$ cost.
What made the night special was that I went out of my way to plan something that was beyond our normal routine, involved something I did not like but that she loved (Styx), and I did it willingly. The money itself meant nothing (of course - easy to say for me.)
So, budget it for what you can afford, obviously. Thing is, if you think about Valentines Day at the beginning of the year, and start saving and planning, I'm sure you can really come up with something that'll suprise her; the female mind DOES look into how much thought/effort/planning/expense goes into your "gift."
*************************************
So start thinking now about anniversary or her birthday, and start planning. Get your parents involved so you can tap into their creativity and access to things like renting a limo or making reservations at the best Italian place you can afford. You may be suprised how much your parents would be willing to chip in to make a "special night" for you both (within reason - - don't expect them to rent a hotel room for you both...lol)
...and a grateful woman is a thing of beauty.

spend time with her. gifts are nice and all but truely if she appreciates you nothing will make her as happy as spending time with you even if its watching tv. me and my girlfriend (at least in my honest opinion) enjoy nothing more then cuddling on the couch watching tv or watching youtube.

I won't even be around for Vday. She will have to settle for a card and a phone call.

In my opinion, nothing says love QUITE like a Khorne Bloodthirster summoned from the depths of the warp. It's like a pit bull, but somewhat different!
Be sure to feed it regularly! And always have fresh blood handy! They do get thirsty!

But yeah. Make sure the person in question REALLY wants one. Otherwise, it becomes a bit awkward.

well, y'know, it's like wine. Acquired taste. whether it's for having a pet bloodthirster, or your pet bloodthirster's taste for you...
