They are terrible. You need to explore the world of heavy metal and the like. Check out: Mors Principium Est Mercenary Arch Enemy At The Gates Bury Your Dead Heaven Shall Burn Prepare to have your soul rocked. Permanently. Melodic death, metalcore and death metal really isn't my thing. Except Vader for when I'm angry beyond reason, but that's only happened twice for a couple of years now. It's a bit odd that you'd think Rage were terrible though. Unless you dislike the genre I think it's hard to ignore that they have some obviously good songs. At least that's what I think. And for the record I've listened to metal since I was 12 years old and have a pretty decent knowledge of most bands around. =)

Last album was okay, their best album by far is probably With Oden On Our Side. Its a great pumper-upper when you are about to roll outside the wire(when you leave your Forward Operating Base for a mission) and possibly do some face-shooting. Blared the crap out of that album when we went to go support some Marines in a firefight.
...with that being said. That's what I'm listening to.

Haha, strangely enough my dad just asked me to include an Alestorm song on our cd's for the yearly midsummer party. Pretty cheerful and nice music. So I've been listening to a lot of mixed rock/metal for the last few hours, I got the honour of composing the cd's myself. After this I definitely need some synth.

@ SOWAD: Amon Amarth is so epic! I saw them a couple of weeks ago with Skeletonwitch. Best concert ever! Glad to see a few fellow metalheads on the forum. I'm the biggest god damn metalhead on this forum! I scream that stuff! My iPod has these bands, and it's all metal: Amon Amarth (with odin on our side, fate of norns, and death in fire from the versus the world album) Like fire, Breeding death, and something else by Bloodbath at Wacken Live Castratikron and Bloodrocuted by Dethklok Are you dead Yet? album by Children of Bodom the Needled 24/7 recorded with Bam Margera, and the song Six Pounder the whole Killswitch Engage self titled album A couple songs by As I Lay Dying The Sacrament album by Lamb of God, as well as Ruin and Hourglass Nemesis by Arch-Enemy Swamplord and They Will Return by Kalmah Burn by Throwdown, and Apex by The Black Dahlia Murder I have 10 songs by Hemlock but I forget the albums Every Devildriver album A couple Pantera songs, a Testament album but I don't remember which one, something by Rammstein (can't spell it ;D), and Black Tears by Heaven Shall Burn My favourite genre's that I'm best at screaming and growling are Thrash Metal, light Death Metal (meaning higher pitched, like Kalmah), and I really like Metalcore, but I can't sing for crap! Oh, and I have one song by Job for a Cowboy \m/ Bands I like but don't have albums for: Norther, Winds of Plauge, Eleuvite, Hatebreed, more As I Lay Dying, Cannible Corps, and Summoned. Not to mention a ton more, but I'm not gonna list them all! I live for metal! EDIT: oh ya, I forgot I have the Captor of Sin cover by At the Gates, too! And I would like Vader's cover of Raining Blood!

really? Hammerfall? oh my god, my friends and I used to laugh so hard when we listened to the song Hearts on Fire.(beacause...well...you'd just have to have been there.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=k25X8RAjJ00(actually just watch this and I'm sure you'll figure it out...) I've seen... Marilyn Manson Monster Magnet and Hole... (all in highschool) plus a handful of indie bands who I forgot the names of... I'm not much of a live show type person... too noisy for me.
