I just figgured something out, Vanquisher with multi melta sponsons, lascannon and Pask That gives you the ultimate AT tank in the game! 2 Melta shots with +1 for being melta, +1 for crack shot! Vanquisher cannon with 1+ and lascannon with 1+ That esensially gives you 2x S10 multi meltas, 1x S10 lascannon, 1x S9 vanquisher cannon ;D and all at bs 4 ;D it sums up at 250pts, but what a tank!

3 Flaws
1. It's expensive as hell. You can put the points you spent on Pask and the Sponsons into something else, like a SW team with Meltas
2. If the enemy tanks are within 24in, it's either something like a Rhino or Trukk, which is a waste of a Multimelta shot, or they're heavy tanks, which means you probably left cover to hit them (which is bad), and you're probably going to be hitting his front armour, which means you won't do much anyway.
3. You just spent 30pts on Sponsons, which makes your tank a bigger target and harder to get in cover, instead of on Camo Netting, which keeps that 50pt investment in Pask alive.
It's a good idea in theory, but mediocre in practice. Just give him a Hull Lascannon and Camo Netting. Anything else is a waste.

Yeah, I thought about it too a while back. It's one of those things where that you initially say "This is awesome!", then look at it really hard, and go "Nah".

Just like the 'lumbering behemoth' rule.
"OH, SWEET! ... Wait, I guess that's good..."

Do not, I repeat, do not badmouth that rule! Anything that has words "lumbering" and "behemoth" in one sentence is super cool! And this has both! JK To be honest, it could have been better for us... But then again it has its virtues...

Yes it does. It's not the "I can move and fire all my guns" trick that it seems at a glance.

@helmian: I think it's a good idea, but the multi-melta range didn't strike my mind when we were chatting on Face book. I think removing those and taking camo would be better Damnit, Reds, you're getting good at the system!

Just like the 'lumbering behemoth' rule. "OH, SWEET! ... Wait, I guess that's good..." How is that rule bad at all? If anything it helped us. Also, almost all this has been gone over under the "vanquisher" thread... Nox

Well Elegaic has already said that while Lumbering Behmoth rule is a good rule it isn't as awesome as it 1st appears.
1 extra weapon a turn (2 if you have a pintle weapon) is good but not great.

Its more points effective to just take a squadron of two vanquishers with sponsons. You have more shots and equal firepower. Pask is a waste with a vanquisher if you have a squadron of them.

for most games 250 pts on one tank is too much.
