Yesterday I got a good deal on all infantry from a Ork horde. Perhaps someday I will turn them into a WAAGH. Every single one of them will need repainting though so as of now it is out of the questions. IG and SM and later som SoB will go first.
What did I get? Heres the inventory. Ork inventory

The Prize? Approximatly 30£. Quite a good deal in my opinion.

I'd aim for two mobs of twenty shoota boyz each with a nob and 2 big shootas then make a couple large slugga boy squads, I recommend keeping the special weapons away from the sluggas unless you have them in a trukk, on foot you'll want them to be running until they reach the enemy and then maybe a transport for Ghaz and his nobs, a battlewagon would be good, make sure to keep it light and open topped, with maybe just a big shoota or two so it can soak up some weapon destroyed damage before getting immobilized...the whole point of the thing will be getting Ghaz into combat as quickly as possible.
maybe get a Mek with a KFF and stick him in the middle of those burnaz and close enough to your large mobs to give them all a 5+ cover save

I was thinking in those terms. But I want two 12 boyz slugga troops in trukks. Because they explode so funny when shot at. And if they do get into CC it is carnage time. So I am thinking
2squads 20 boyz shoota 2squads 12 boyz slugga (trukks) 1squads 20 boyz slugga (running)
That ought to be a good troop core.

Yes they are great models those trukks. About Ghazkull, I am actually thinking of dropping him, not even using him as a mega armoured warboss.
The reason is I have gone up against many Ork armies with him or megarmoured warboss in it. And almost every time I have won the roll for who goes first. Ghazkull has spent the battle walking slowly towards the battle line taking pot shots and missing. So I'll go for a Eavy armored warboss instead with his homies in a battlewagon.

never used mega armor either so can't say much about that...
but eavy armor is pretty good, I give my boss eavy armor, a bosspole, kombiskorcha,powerklaw, and sometimes cybork(actually its a WHFB orc shield strapped to his back, I call it Da Boss' lucky shield...)
The Boss is a real monster for me he is always my MvP.

Very nice deal you got. I think you should get some lootas there great for covering your horde on the move alot. D3 autocannons even with rolling a 1 you still get lots of shoots from then. I tend to use 2 squads of 10 since my klan is dethskullz.
As for the mega armoured boss always keep him mounted in a battlewagon or trukk. He'll get no were any time soon on foot.
I would recommend some killa kanz and deffdreads there great distraction while the rest of the army gets in to combat and If they fail to kill them they will kills loads.

So I've been painting today and that meant some adjustments to my original plan. Nothing much but as of now the start looks like this.
20 sluggas and 1 Nob in 'eavy armor 12 sluggas (will most likely be put in a trukk) 11 ard boyz and 1 Nob in 'eavy armor (Most likely will be put in an battlewagon)
18 shootaz with 2 big shootaz 18 shootaz with 2 rokkitlaunchers
From there I might go anywhere, but I am considering the mainly infantry theme.

@mgk You need 20 orks before you are allowed to take 2 rokkits or 2 big shootas in a single mob...I'd put the rokkit launchers in the smaller mobs in transports...or scrap them altogether and get more powerclaws as you might actually kill a tank with a powerklaw...you'll have a lot harder time of it with a rokkit launcha that never hits anything, and give each squad of 18 shoota boyz one big shoota each...they'll be hosing down infantry mostly.

Ok, thanks Ymmot. I've also changed one of the slugga squads into a Kommando squad. The reason is that the models and painting screamed Kommandos to me.

So far I am lacking AT in this horde. To change that I am considering some powerclaws and 2 batteries of 3 ZZap guns each. All of them reinforced with three ammo runts and 6 additional grot.
Zzap guns are just to hilarious and orky, not to use them. Unfortunatly they can't blow up by themselves, but at least they can kill their own crew.
