it has a twin linked autocannon turret if I remember correctly. other than that it's a standard leman russ.
I like the demolisher for one reason: side armor XXbaby. this is a huge advantage. when was the last time that your enemy said 'hey look, it's guard, lets dig in and have a good ol' shooty-fest and see who wins' ... like... never. our enemies invariably close with us, and having demolishers means that you have some hard hitting heavily armored tracks to bring to bear on an advancing foe. if a regular russ gets flanked, it folds a lot easier than a demolisher. I love that extra point of side armor, and the sponson choices are nice too!
there's something to be said for the 'I take 3 expendable stripped down leman russes' strategy too however. seems like a reasonable investment for 3 battlecannons that soak a metric ton of fire early on.
(Dont post Stats, even if you try and hide it - Woz)

3 demolishers advancing up the flanks represent the single closeset thing the IG has to the death company (darkside: I HATE DEATH COMPANY!).
( Darkside:If any person should call you beardy/cheesy, free feel to slap them. If said person plays SMURFS, ChaosSMURFS, or Tau feel free to shoot them. If they specificly play Khornate or Blood angels, do us all a favor and leave their dead body somewhere it can be easily noticed by other players of such armies.)

I'd go with one of each and a basilisk. I used 2 demolishers protecting a basilisk for a while though, and that met with some solid success (though it made my deployment quite easy to predict since I only had one deployment formation so my normal opponents began to catch on and counter-deploy). still, 2 demolishers make approaching a basilisk VERY unattractive and they provide some really good armor to weather any fire that they may take, in the end typically becoming LOS blocking terrain when they're destroyed so my 'lisk is still hidden

Yeah, tank shields are great for artillery, just wonderful.

The basalisk's minimum range sucks though, I'd stick with Battle tanks.

I'm planning on running 2 regular russes and a demolisher with las plasma. If i get first turn I have two pie plates and the demolisher can fire its sponson and hull mounted weapons since it will most likely be out of range. since they have a range of 7 just put one of each tank on the table edges with the demolisher front and center. Unless he has a nuts load of tank hunters its not going to be possible to get them all.
