Hello there everyone Having just sold my Relictors Space marines for some dosh (£££) and I am thinking of starting an Emperors Children army based around Fast Attack choices and Deep striking units. I really wish to avoid any Heavy Support choices for this army. The rough idea is as follows I am hoping to borrow a Chaos Marines codex to work out the points and make this up to a 1500 pt force and would like some help with it. HQ Chaos termi lord with plasma pistol / killy daemon sword of death. (I already have this model its a nice conversion from the DA termi legs and the normal marine torso making him almost a head higher than a GK terminator will get pics when I am done filing) I am also considering a biker lord one of my continuing trends is to take two HQ choices Troops: 20 Marines Elites: 5 or 10 Terminators. Fast Attack: 6 or 9 bikers with Melta guns 10 Raptors. Its really just for something a little different my Relictors was a strong balanced force and to an extent my guard army is also my necrons are a small elite force

Hi, I've been a chaos player for a while now. Here's my thoughts.
I like the idea you've got so far. I like two HQs for chaos a lot, especially two lords. I do that myself sometimes, one fast, one tough usually. A friend of mine made a chapter master with termie legs and arms, and regular head and torso and i've never seen anything that looked so cool. I loved it so much I'll be doing it myself soon with a chaos lord. There is, however, one issue with it. The new LoS rules make it a lot easier to hit and add spiky bits on it and it's almost the size of a MC, LOL.
A couple sugestions:
I understand not wanting to take heavies, but don't rule out the idea of a defiler. These things are mosters and with fleet it doesn't take away from the speed of your army.
Noise marines add to a fast army with the variety of weapons that can be assault + higher initiative. They may be quite expensive but i've never known anyone (including myself) that have ever regretting using them. They are almost always worth their points, sometime more because of how multi-purpose they are.
I have mixed feelings for raptors. On one note they're cheaper now, on another they lost all their special rules that made them stand out. Now they're just jump troops and I have yet to get the hang of using the new guys. /shrug. that might just be me though.
You can never go wrong with MoN on bikers FYI. T6 bikers (drewl)
MoZ or MoK on termies is fun fun fun
I don't ever take marks for standard marines. I like to keep them cheap.
I see a possible issue against hordes but that's pretty normal now-a-days. More flamers for those are aways good.

Yes that was my thoughts exactly a tough HQ and a faster HQ to lend some punch to the bikers / raptors. I have no experiance fighting against Noise Marines and tbh I always wonderd what do they do? (yes I realise this could be a problem taking an Emp's Children army) Indeed I was thinking that against a horde army I may be a bit buggerd, however I figure with being faster I can try and aviod the fights I know I cant win Now that filing and fettling is done (I am lazy xD ) I am looking forward to painting this model very much! I think I will use Purple and gold but a dark blue with a lighter blue over it would be very striking. I didnt know the defiler could use fleet thats very intresting however I do beleive perhaps the points could be well spent somewhere else as I find just through observing that they truely are bullet magnets.

I will never push anyone to put something in their army they can't/dont' want to use. BUT I just wanted to make sure you understood everything and all your options. Defiler bonuses: Fleet, Ignores crew shaken and stunned, TWO dread weapons, awesome big gun + good options for others and mosterous in assaults. Defiler weaknesses: BIG FREAKIN' TARGET!!! low back armor (normal dread armor, DSing termies anyone?) Think of it as a dread meets leman russ, then add fleet. WOO! yeah, that's it. Anyway, I'd love to see the final painted model. Nothing I love more than a custom lord. And well don't try outrunning Orks, they can get fleet and with the right characters, every round and maybe even an extra +1d6 of it (can't remember exactly who/what, got a friend that plays orks.... they can be scary), and Nob bikers are very very common, Guard has big big big boomies that turn power armor into mush. Just saying.... don't count on it, LOL. nids = fail in general, unless the player is truely a nid player and awesome, i've seen it

Right xD I have been smart to never let a defiler get close to my Necron lines. What do Noise Marines do can I just ask though?

What do Noise Marines do can I just ask though? If I had to hazard a guess, I would say make noise. Reds

lol!
Noise maries have the following:
MoS: i.e. I5 marines
For extra points you can upgrade their weapons to sonic weapons. Sonic weapons have two settings, roughly estimated they basically all have storm bolters and heavy bolters (although not exact, just close)
One can be upgraded with a "heavy" weapon that is roughly (again not exactly) an assault heavy bolter and an autocannon.
Each round you can decide which frequency you want to fire.
There is also a flamer type weapon the champion can be upgraded with that is on his back, and doesn't take up his normal weapons slots.

only problems the unit has is against heavy armor. other than that, they kill everything pretty well.

Hey guys long time no speak, having progressed further along the dark path I now have a C:CSM and have come up with the following list.
also since this is a 1500pt army I am really restricted in what I can flesh out on
anyway rough list C&C appreciated!
HQ:
Chaos Lord MoS, combi bolter,Blissgiver, melta nades = 160 pts
Sorcerer with Mos, Lash of Submission, melta nades = 125 pts
Elites:
Chosen x 5 with power 4 power weapons and one plasma gun, MoS + Rhino = 195 pt
Troops:
6 Noise marines with sonic blaster, Noise champion, Power weapon rhino = 215 pts
6 noise marines with sonic blasters, Noise Champion, Power weapon rhino = 215 pts
10 Chaos Marines with rhino = 185 pts
10 Chaos Marines with rhino = 185 pts
Fast Attack
6 x Raptors with two Meltaguns = 120 pts
6 x Raptors with Two Meltaguns = 120 pts
total = 1520 pts
Thoughts?

It looks solid, although I am a bit dissapointed that you did away with the bikers. That just takes all the heart and soul out of the Fast Attack

Yeah I decided I didnt want to do a fast attack force any more and I posted this list on BOLS and a biker list and I ended up with defilers so they can fleet across and kill things Although for bringing the force up to 2000pts Im thinking 12 bikers with MoS and then I can not suffer from the dreaded one army list syndrome that plagues me.
