i must say that i really enjoy the lascannon sentinel with the hunter killer missile( irun a squad of 2).... that is four shots of anti tankie goodness =)
and i generally hit 3 out of those four times.... i have dropped a brass scorpion with that combo!

I use the Catachan pattern with Hunter Killers and Camo Netting. Most of my opponants hate them because they pop lots of tanks. And you have to love walking trees.

they're all good, but if we had more weapon options we the sent would be the most feared piece of kit in 40K. (We need plasma cannon sentniels!) But what I don't get, is that in basic points costs, the eldar war-walker costsabout as much as a sent, yet it can carry nearly double weapons, has a funny enenrgy shield yet costs less than a sentinel!! (or at least according to my codex) Another piece of conclusive proof that GW is run by Imperial-Guard hating hatchetmen, and is tryingto sabotage us. Aside from the "Panzees are cheeze" reasons (unkillable Falcons = cheddar ), War Walkers take up a Heavy Slot... while Sentinels either take up a Fast Attack slot -OR- you use them in a free HQ Platoon slot. If GW forces the Panzees to give up a Falcon or Prism tank in order to field a couple killable Walkers, then great! That doesn't explain why Wave Serpents are as unkillable as they are relative to Chimeras, however... At least Sentinels can be fielded with Drop Troops... that's a pretty sweet ability.

Has to be Cadian, then Mars + a closed cockpit so that not just ANY shot hitting will kill them. Opentop Vehicles suck(unless you anr and Ork).
