UNSC Soldier:
"I do believe the sound of racking the pump of a shotgun is universally recognized as, kissk your @ss goodbye!"

Well, not a quote but a true story:
An Army MLRS unit in Iraq lets a group of Marines babysit one of their exoset missile (I belive thats what they are, 500lbs of TNT in point-detonation warhead).
When they got the missile back, it was graffitied , defecated on, and the faceplate to warhead was MISSING and their were DENTS on warhead its self.

It's a lot like giving a six year old a gun. You don't know what's going to happen, but you know it's going to make the news.

From my friend the other day: "There are two types of immagrant. Those that understand the modern world and go to Germany and those who don't who go to Britain."
Also: "In soviet russia, zombies survive human apocalypse!"

Again, I love Arizona, it is now a crime (dont know why it wasnt before) to be in the state illegally, and the police can question ANYONE about their immigration status. PAPERS, SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!!!!

It's a separate crime from being in the US illegally? Does that mean I can enter the state illegally? If I was asked for papers, would a MD driver's license do?

You have to prove you are a citizen of the United States.
I do not see this law lasting long.

It'd be awesome if it did. Then people would start carrying passports or other such nonsense just to go to work.

It is the law, you have to carry some form of I.D. on you at all times. So it shouldn't be a big deal.
Its also federal law that one has to carry their green-card at all times (if needed) so its no different then a drivers license or other forms of I.D.
It is the law, that if you are within 50 miles of ANY US border that you have to state what your citizenship is when asked by a federal officer.
Its not that hard to follow laws that have been on the books for a very long time!
Correction: 25 miles

They're damn stupid rules, and this is me saying it. "Yay, spend money on ID cards when we've got a deficit!". I'd be p!ssed if some arbitrary official decided that I have to carry an ID card for no particular reason other than his petty whim. Now that's bad use of state power.

You do have a point RT, but I ask to think about the officer and look through his eyes. eyes. ( this is a complicated subject, I’m only taking one part of the I.D issue)
Why are we as US citizens required to have some form of I.D.? Basically, it ( on paper) is a structured way to identify our self’s.
Contraire to popular belief, an officer cannot just approach you on a whim and ask for identification, this is covered under the US 4th amendment. He has to have reasonable suspicion and or probable cause to ask you to identify your self.
The officer has a right to know who and what he is dealing with. How is he going to know if you are an average, law abiding, citizen or a criminal on the run wanted for multiple murders? What about his safety?
My self and many others of my kind have chosen to protect the Constitution of the United States. We have also chosen to give a big part of our lives to insure the safety of our fellow man, and in doing we have given up some of our personal rights. We have a right to do this safely in performing this civil service.
Again, this is just small part of a vary large issue.

The law is for a form of ID, not necessarily one that proves citizenship. I fully agree with it on a national level, but scaling it down to state level is overkill, and will just annoy everyone.

Basically states that all none US citizens that are in the US legally must carry their (what ever paper work that states their reason for being here) at all times. I totally agree with Req, I just wanted to point out that we already have these laws on the books, we just need to enforce them and not stress an already stressed state system. 8 USC 1304e is the code and section.

Oh, that's fine. @0311: Most murderers I know are either smart enough to get a forgery, or insane enough to just kill the officer without trying to trick them.

Dont know if this has already been posted, but it is some of my favourite couple of scenes from Forrest Gump.
Drill Sergeant: GUUUUUMP! What is your sole purpose in this army?
Gump: To do whatever you tell me, Drill Sergeant.
Drill Sergeant: Godd@mnit Gump! You are a godd@mn genius! That's the most outstanding answer I've ever heard. You must have an IQ of a 160! You are godd@mned gifted, Private Gump!
and then the scene where he is putting the rifle together....
Forrest: Done, Drill Sergeant!
Drill Sergeant: Gump! Why did you put that weapon together so quickly, Gump?
Forrest: You told me to, Drill Seageant.
Drill Sergeant: Jesus Christ! This is a new company record. If it wouldn't be a waste of such a damn fine enlisted man, I'd recommended you for O.C.S., Private Gump. You are gonna be a General some day, Gump! Now, disassemble your weapon and continue!

I think a few of us ( my self included) have gotten off topic for this thread. May I suggest that we return to the topic of the thread...?
Though your concern is valid Rook, I think you may be treading in dangerous waters, the rules as posted by Master and Commander Woz, basically state to stay away from political issue. This is one hell of a political issue!
This is nothing more than friendly advice, that is all.
