It's true. Think of the neat potential that the Sanctuary 101 battle has for Planetstrike...

Except we all know how that battle ends...
Dibs on not playing the Sisters.

So you do not want to try to re-write history in the Imperium's favor. Heretic.

Mob into 20-woman squads and bolter everything into heretical oblivion.

Only if they can deep strike, otherwise they're too slow to really be competative. 20-woman squads are weak in standard tabletop games, especially against the Guard (at least 10-woman squads in Rhinos can reliably move forward in the first turn without taking any casualties due to smoke launchers, and probably last another turn as well dependant on luck).

It's a defence mission Melissa. Transports are a no-no in planetstrike anyway, because the Firestorm turns them to scrap, and they're wasted.

Ahem. are weak in standard tabletop games IE, when I said that I wasn't referring to planetstrike

well...at least it is VS necrons who are just as slow and getting close to half the number of points

Weak against any shooting or deep striking army anyway. Against assaulters who aren't in transports and aren't deep striking, it can work. IE gaunt hordes and the "green tide" strategy for Orks fall prey to large number of bolter rounds, but Guardsmen just shoot them down with heavy weapons and AP3 blasts before they can get close enough, and Tau will outmaneuver them.

That may be, but I was specifically referring to a "Sisters hold a shrine and Necrons attack" planetstrike scenario. In order to "win," the necrons would have to wipe-out the sisters force, and they would never phase-out.

In that case, yes, putting more bodies on the field would be beneficial, although doing so to the detriment of your faith point count is not a good idea (the biggest benefit of many smaller squads is more faith points).

So take six 10-woman squads. Add three of seraphim, three cannonesses, and six exorcists, and you have a defense force full of win.

Actually, on consideration, Repentia might actually be half-decent in 'Strike.

Actually, they aren't. But Acro-Flagellents are.

They might be if they popped out of an escape hatch into the enemy lines...

Nope. Still striking last, still as survivable as an ST.

Hmmm, a Sisters of battle thread, disguised as a new dex thread... intriguing... Sorry, hardly my place to say that, just an observation, not an complaint. Always find you guys endlessly entertaining.

Nope. Still striking last, still as survivable as an ST. If even that much. At least the stormtroopers have the good sense to duck behind cover instead of charge the enemy lines. I love Sisters, but I really hate how Repentia were put in.

I think the necrons could snag a victory... Destroyers are a crons best friend. and planet strike might make Pariahs worth taking
