Well, having held and seen the new kits for both the Hellhound/Banewolf/Devildog and the Punisher/Demolisher/Excecutioner, I must say I'm impressed. They're both going to retail at £30, five pounds less than the metal-plastic forerunner models. The new 'hound looks quite nice in plastix, though I'm unimpressed with the Devildog's appearance. I think I'll see about cadging some Redeemer Flamers for an inferno cannon and doing a little conversion work.
The new Russ, however, is sweet. The Punisher looks good, the Excecutioner looks imposing an menacing, although the Demolisher cannon is a bit...meh for my tastes.
The once-metal plasma and melta sponsons are plastic, so you'll be able to mount and magnetise them much more easily than previously, and there may be more interesting bits that I've missed.

My Birthday also falls in the hallowed month of August, and I've already got 2 demolisher kits and a hellhound on advance order. 'Er in doors, she says YES!

I'm going to start a new army based on Empire Archers, but with loads of tanks. Basically I'm getting the executioner with 2 plasma, 1 lascannon, a punisher with 3 heavy bolters, a Devil Dog and a Hellhound. Oh, and an Exterminator which will be made from the standard LRBT and autocannons from the heavy weapon teams. That 'How to Paint Tanks' book might be an idea, as well.

I'm wondering just how many Plasma weapons I can squeeze into my army...
I wont a force that could potentially destroy itself if enough 1s were rolled...

Sounds like Dark Angels (I'm conivnced they painted their armor green to match their plasma guns)

Right, ladies and gentlemen, I just had a look at the fully assembled and painted Excecutioner, Punisher and Hellhound.
The 'hound is an excellent model - evil, menacing and imposing on the field, unlike it's prior form which resembled a chimera with a slightly heavier flamer.
The new turret on the tanks is far, far superior to the old one - it actually looks capable of holding an appropriately sized cannon rather than being absurdly small and puny. The Punisher looks impressive, the Excecutioner is purest bleak black awesome and win.

do the kits come with the same commander and crew as the LRBT? does the hellhound kit even come with crew or anything?

ah, just had a look online and the hellhound kit comes with an awesome new commander (i think) or at least new bits, a left handed bolt pistol (great for that right handed powerfist!) and an awesome officer head with a cool gasmask. looks kinda evil, like he strapped a strainer onto his face !

Executioner ftw.
dont have it on advanced order, but im planning on buying me on of these babies.
i feel for the hellhound, but i dont like the cost for it, $50... same as the tank, but the tank is more point cost and bigger, so it is a nuisance.

Not so bad. If I were silly enough to purchase directly from GW, a full Battle Sister Squad with an ideal setup would cost something around $100+ USD (combining the squad, heavy flamer, meltagun, rhino, and Sororitas rhino doors into one). And these are just basic troops... so yeah...

Not understanding you point, Melissia. I do recall I considered buying some Seraphim and some Sisters last time I was in GW, but I realised that
A) It would have come to £40, plus the Rhino, and
B) There is no way I can fluff-justify the inclusion of Sisters in a Renegade army.

My point was simply that $50 USD for a single FoC choice isn't that bad when compared to what the all-metal armies have to put up with *shrug*.

The fact that you can apparently change out the weapons, and the fact that I'm ordering it though The War Store means it'll be the same prices as the old Hellhound (shipping included), helps quite a bit as well.
