@nicholasakira: Alright, my Salamanders have spotted you, and are moving to meet up with them. They aren't sure you're not Orks, though.

So, I hope it is cool that my guys deployed all stealthy like, wouldn't be right for them to come in all parade style.

1st coy is all high up in orbit. Callsign for them is Royals. For their Modified Landers (MLanders), the callsign is Storm.

They'll probably be brutally slaughtered and end up witht heir heads on a stick, minus the rest of their bodies. Or most of the rest of their bodies.

You'd probably die. Your officers aren't Yarrick.

Wonder if I should increase the distance from 5 kM to 50 kM... it's supposed to be well out of sight of anyone who doesn't have augmented eyes.

5 K's is short in a desert. 50K's means we risk the Valks running out on fuel if the engagement if prolonged. 30 Kilometres is well beyond visual range, and also would be well out of artillery range. If we were within 5K's, the likelihood is that the Orks would be firing Orky artillery at us.

So what distance do you reccomend, 30 kM?

25-30 Kilometres. Takes about an hour to two for an armoured regiment to traverse, a few minutes for flyers, and the best part of a day for infantry. It's a decent distance - not going to make resupply problematic, but long enough for us to get the jump on the orks.

Wait, I want to get this straight. Since I'm part of the airborne, do you want me to just blow up everything in sight, or be clean, and leave as much intact as possible?
EDIT: Who'd you place in command? Dremmond?

The armored company commander. Let's assume your post is after mine and aimed at Reds' character.

Wait...I did airborne. And I like airborne. Gah, more people to liase with. Correct, she got annoyed and decided to go into the cool air conditioned command tank. Instead she's letting her Psyker suffer (the Ork doens't care either way, in fact he likes the idea of assaulting a fortress, like any Ork would).

Wait...I did airborne. And I like airborne. Gah, more people to liase with. Well, technically, I'm dropping from low orbit/high alt. So I guess I'd be more of a drop trooper type. And I'm not a little brat. The very least I need to know is where you're landing, so I don't fire my pods onto your position. (Yes, pods. Anyone wants me to explain it, and I'll put up the philosophy here.)

Okay, two task forces for the assault
Task force one Dunbar's tanks Helmian's Astartes Envoy's troops Ignatius' troops 3 Bassies from Melissia's NPC arty group
Task Force 2 Kaikelx's Drop Troops Van Dremmond's guys RT's Air Cav
Ymmot's I'm not even sure where your guys are. If they're near the back gate, have them help out Task Force 2.
I posted what everyone will be doing, but if there's some confusion, I can lay it out step by step for each task force.

One question: Why the hell did my astartes land at the drop zone, wouldn't it be smarter to drop pod into the fortress?

Wait, wait, exactly how many gun positions are we talking about? If I'm right about the number, and where I'll be dropping down, 1 platoon (35 men and women in my case) won't cut it.....

Not very many. Melissia told me the fort is undermaned (or Orked), and there are only a couple of Big Shootas on the wall.
Besides, Grendel will be with you, and they're packing a lot of HWs on their Chimeras, so they can help supress the defenses.

@kai: I think you might have understood, most likely becuase i wrote it in a stupid way and i did not try in anyway to insult you. If i did I'm sorry. Explain how these drop pods of yours work so that i may better understand.
