PREMISE: A group of random individuals from an underhive are conscripted-- along with a great deal of their friends/associates of course-- and sent off to man a remote location, as the government fears that war will be coming. What, exactly, they are going to end up fighting against, the government won't reveal, leaving a good portion of the population panicking and the underhives are rioting. The story starts off in the underhive, during one of the riots, as the characters attempt to fend for themselves before they are, one by one, conscripted and sent to basic training. After that, it's the long ride to their post in a chimera, without knowing if they'll ever make it back. And after that? We'll see. SO! Is anyone interested? It's a more personal roleplay, in that it involves you roleplaying a single human being, an underhiver, rather than an army as in the previous roleplays on this board. It is still intended to be a somewhat serious roleplay, and yes, there will be a number of NPCs between you and the enemy so that you at least stand a chance at surviving until the end (or possibly past the end if I'm feeling generous). No, but at the rate we're going, it'll be prolly a couple months or more before we get to it.

Mkay. Are we fighting for the entire planet, or are we simply doing one battle? It'd explain where the 482nd is....
As for this RP, I MIGHT join, but I'm probably going to make something entirely up, as I don't want to risk a fluff chara being killed....

That is not what this thread is about, so ask in the other thread if you really want to talk about that campaign.
Back on topic!
It's pretty much expected that you will make an entirelly new character.

SAMPLE CHARACTER (also the one I'm using)
Arhat, Emily Eva Age: 21 Height: 5'7" (170.18 cm) Weight: 127lb (57.61 kg) Skin tone: Pale Hair color: Dark Brown Eye color: Light Green Build: Athletic, but not muscular. Other notable physical characteristics: Freckles, light and faded scars from a neural whip lashing, delivered by the Arbites.
Short biographical summary: Born to underhive gang lieutennant Evony Arhat and factorum worker Matthias Stone. Educated in underhive school #351, recieved average marks in all areas. Noted for excellent combat skills and potential leadership ability, but was considered to be reckless and undisciplined at the time and thus passed over for Guard recruitment. Known underhive ganger of roughly sergeant level in the organization, had led successful raids against other gangs, and went completely uncaught until a particularly audacious raid on an Arbites armoury three years prior to her conscription. Recieved a public lashing for the offense, as no deaths occurred during it (several Arbites officers were subdued, but it seemed that they were very careful not to kill or seriously injure any of them for specifically this reason). Other criminal record unknown-- this is the only recorded incident, although it is without a doubt that there are countless other incidents, where she simply was not caught.

I'm not in any particular hurry to start the roleplay. Mostly, I'm fishing to see who's interested in this knid of rp.

Well, since randomly introducing Drang here would spoil the game, I'll register interest but suggest Melissia show more patience.

Hive Planet: Uriah's Bane (nickname: U-bane)
A solitary semi-barren plains world circling an average sized star, with very few notable features. World is dotted with lakes of varying sizes, with no bodies of water large enough to call an ocean. World is 80% land mass, 20% water, with the majority of the water mass being underground. World has no mountain ranges to speak of, and in fact the tallest features are the spires of the Hive cities. It is suggested that in many areas, the world is simply a sea of green and yellow grass rather than water, and indeed were it not for the planet's eternal cloudiness, it would have made a perfect aggriworld-- but the planet was determined not to recieve enough light to produce a proper amount of aggriculture. Sizeable populations of Ranchers Grox ranching in the plains provides the primary nourishment for the planet's population, with a percentage of the planet's population conscripted every few years and shipped off to avoid food shortages. Various firebases and bastions dot the landscape, holding PDF, Guard, and Arbites presences, due to the ever-present groups of bandits attempting to steal grox from the herders. In the hive cities themselves, it's much the same albeit underhive checkpoints and heavilly armoured barracks instad of firebases and bastions, from wherein the Arbites-- supported by the PDF-- wage their eternal war against the seemingly innumerable Underhive Gangs. Indeed, the Guard is seemingly trained against both the gangs and the bandits, letting them have some minor combat experience before they are inevitably shipped off-planet.
Essentially, the theme I'm going for is "Steampunk Wild West meets Futuristic Gangbangers". And now I'm actually thinking of changing my character and simply keeping Emily Eva Arhat as a sample character...
The starting situation will be a riot during trading session, where both cultures meet and an obscure gang teams up with some bandits to create a riot that will allow them to steal their unfair shares of grox meat to replenish their supplies. During the situation, your characters are introduced, and then conscripted immediently afterwards.

Wait, we have to be part of the riot? Or could we just be caught up in it, as my draft character just simply wants to avoid everyone and everything

Just present during the riot. It's an introduction to your character; how your character deals with the riot helps establish their personality.

Ah, warhammer gangsta. What, like LA in space?
Brrrrat, brrrrat. Wa-hamma in the hood. Bloods for the blood god. Arbites killa. CK all day every day. PaCking a las-Chopper and shootin some Crabs. Bangin and high till the day I die.
So what? Is the plan to have an RP about putting in work and honest banging or is there some big other plan involving a more familiar aspect of 40k?

I said gangbangers, not necessarilly gangsta. Regardless, I put the premise in the first post. They will be conscripted and sent off to a remote outpost and forced to deal with both eachother, a commissar, and an unknown incoming enemy.

Yeah I know, but is the story about fighting that enemy or one anothers?
Cause true gangsters, true gangsters kill each other, not the man's foe.
