dethklok hasn't posted in this thread...or had he but woz deleted his post??? I think he was abducted by the aliens, yep I'm sure of it... there's two things that I love for dealing with deepstriking termies, and one's been mentioned. a) demolishers (been mentioned) and b) demo charges. as far as satisfaction rewards, killing termies with lasguns is just greatness

Plasma guns are a termies worst nightmare when being faced with the might of IG infantry
and please note to self....do not under any circumstances charge them...esp with a chaplain accompanying them...even if ure command squad...or any squad fer that matter has a tooled up form of power weapon or fist...it still doesnt work out

oh man no doubt! I did my whole 'charge with a weakened unit to stall them a turn' bit and watched my squad just get crushed dead in one bloody salvo of powerfist attacks...I sat there with my mouth gaping then realized that I'd be writing off a few more units which I'd been positioning for a counterattack heh.
termies are nast-eeee in melee.

remember this when deploying the Demolisher: it can only fire one weapon per turn.
out of all the IG players i've met, not one of them arms their demolisher with anything but the req'd H.bolter. Everything else is just a points sink. Having spares IS nice, but even so, exactaly how much damage can you do with a pair of plasma cannons each turn?

Demolisher plus HM lascannon is a good combo,.. they take one out and it is still a decent tank hunter.. I have actually won combat versus assualt terminators with stormtroopers.. but it was mostly due to absolutely horrible rolling on his part.. 2 hits, 1 wounds from 5 terminators, i return back with 4 hits, 3 wounds, 2 go through his armor lol and I won combat hows that for luck eh? Cheers Gris

Demo+HM Lascannon+Sponson Plasmacannons = good tank All my other tanks are only Chimeras and MBTs with just the HM H'bolter...

Accually, I don't fear terminators NEARLY as much as I used to playing Tau, mainly beacuse Termies have such tiny squad sizes. When my opponent does field them, I just take a demolisher with plasma cannons and Heavy Bolter. After one good turn of shooting with that, only a few are left standing. 2 or 3 terminators are accually pretty pathetic if you hit 'em with a power-weapon-equipped assault squad. Shooty terminators can make quite a mess, however.

Here is my 2 cents. If it's a Terminator heavy army you're facing. Kill each squad to the man with EVERYTHING you have then move on to the next squad. But, I've been contemplating this very question. What to do about terminators? I've come up with this as my philosophy. Do nothing. Honestly look at it this way. I have a suicide J.O. plasma squad (9 plasma shots). One of the best Anti-Termie units in the imperial arsenal. Being generous with the stats 5 of these will hit 4 will wound and 1 will be saved. 3 terminators dead. Against a SM line squad or any other target. the same fire and wound rolls = 4 dead marines. Also, since "kill to the man" is an important I.G. concept the pick-up needed for the line squad will be far easier than for the terminators. And if you don't kill the full squad you're staring at 2 assault cannons + storm bolters. If even 1 Assault cannon remains that terminator can potentially wipe out an entire 10 man line squad by it self. By killing 3 guards and forcing a morale check. So, my answer to dealing with termies is not to. They have will kill a squad a turn at full strength and have a good chance to do the same with 1 man left. Because you have to dedicate so much fire power to take them out I consider it better to direct the fire at the easier to kill Marines. If turn 6 comes and all that's left for a SM opponent to move is 5 terminators, I think you'll have the upper hand.

Bog them down with meatshield suicide squads and blast away with snipers, melta, plasma, autocannons, lascannons ect. Thats what I'd do anyway. There cost is worth more than any squad we can throw at them. whatever the losses it's a win I'd say.

2 plasma cannons and a Las cannon (+ heavy stubber) give the demol' some long range firepower.

Don't bother with the plasma cannons. Yes, they are amazingly powerful but like mylesproweer said only one weapon would be able to fire each turn. Heavy bolters are a safer bet.

I would'nt recommend the rough riders. Terminators have loads of weapons that would punch right through Flak and even carapace armour.

yeah terminators are bitches but they can be vulenrable in combat. Example friend of mine deep strikes his 6 man spuad of terminator next stormtooper charge 10 wound 3 power weapon wounds. Other way ekkk demo charge for each troop.

I sent about 23 men at a squad of them who had just gotten through to the lines, we were outside a building, my guys over ran them, a commissar with a power fist smashed them while officers and regulars stabbed em.
