Hey guys. With the third Vraks book completed and on sale, my thoughts are already turning to the next book.
Rumour has it that it will be Orks vs Elysians, this gives me an idea that there will be some sort of "Drop troops" army list present. Seeing as there are new Ork vehicles like the Flakk Gun and Supa Kannon that seem to be made to destroy aircraft and incoming vehicles, and new resin Vultures and Vendetta upgrades. Could this mean that the story will be about Elysians assaulting an Ork held world?
What are everybody's thoughts?
I also wanted to ask what you guys would like to see in the way of new Guard toys? - specifically for drop troops. I personally would like to see rules for a larger type of drop ship, something that could hold a couple of squads - like minimum platoon strength of 25 guys.

What you said would be good, and I personally would want something that has firepoints in it (perhaps even so that heavy weapon teams could be mounted and fired out if it moves 6" or less). Bringing back deep striking infantry and sentinels are of course the biggest hope, and perhaps some more special weapons (along the lines of the lasgun that has a one-shot grenade launcher).
All in all I will be happy if it's more or less a regular army with deep striking infantry, but I would really be thrilled if it indeed had a few more skimmers for us and other toys. Another HQ option (special character) would be nice, and I would like to see a new Elite option (since from the current ones I can only see Storm Troopers in an Elysian army).

I can imagine orks jumping out of moving Valk's, trying to figure out how to use their grav-chutes before going *squish*.

you forgot throwing squig\grot bombs out the rear exit. guard air cav vs ork air cav would make for some fun battles both trying to capture some holy relic\shiny gubbin.

Command Valkyries, perhaps? Maybe ditch the nose mount for an antenna so an officer can issue orders from it?
I think it would be cool to have a special character who could call down a bombing run.

I definitely want a large capacity flyer that can carry multiple squads like the Gorgon. But I think some more Ork flyers would be nice too.

I'd like to see In the book: - carapace armour as an option for Elysian squads (as in the initial fluff about them) - Special rules for transponder and beacon - A heavy drop ship (ork and Elysian) to transport multiple squads and/or walkers - New weapon payload for aircraft/valkyries/vultures - deep strike for all Elysian units with the "airborne" special rule (reroll dice) and sentinels - heavy mortars for Elysians (lighter version of the Krieg's one) able to be airshipped and deepstruck - shotgun or lasgun for all Elysian squads - No heavy weapons in line squads but able to take 2 special weapons or 1 special and 1 demo charge.
That's all for the moment!!!

majorjav has some good points there. I'm not a fan of bigger air-transport, but hey that's just me.
Transponder and beacon special rules would be awesome! I would add heavy stubber for the line squads and/or heavy weapon teams. It looks light enough to be air-droped and could make for some nice conversions.
Oh! And let's hope they keep the auxiliary krak launcher.

I like the idea about the multi squard air transport. I'd also like something with grappeling/fast rope lines that doesn't let the squad to scatter (my scatter dice are very cruel.)

I want people to make war of the world walkers using pipe cleaners and plastic goldish with Ork boyz riding them (actually this reminds more of Nemecyst from Gears of War)

I think larger dropships of some sort would be awesome, maybe the Destrier? (A Heavy dropship from Dan Abnett's "Only in Death") Or some kind of rules for grav-chuting from Marauders? And some way to airlift tanks. I think that you could put at least a chimera in a Destrier.

What majorjav said, plus
~ Some vehicle upgrades for Valks & Vendettas (The IA1 update has these listed only for the Vulture). ~ A rule allowing gunships in squadrons to divide their fire between multiple targets. ~ Some sort of support option, like buy-able barrage perhaps.

I think they could be something in with the use of helicopters. Orks have that stupid heli thing, so its only natural that the Imperium should have something like that. After all the Orks arnt clever enough to think of something like that them selfs, everything they have is copyed, or 'found'.
Pancake: I made a hand glider for my Necromunder mob when I was 14 lol. Still got it somewhere as well. Couple bits of plastic and tin foil. Poor effort but everyone starts somewhere lol.
I think Gliders could be a idea too. Imperial guard equiverlent of SM drop pods. Hold 5 or six guardsmen (or storm troopers would be better) and spends one turn in the air and can drop a bomb or two, before landing and letting the boys out for a fight. Cheap and weak, but would harrass the enemy. Perfect if it comes on as a reserve.

A kind of glider would be nice, some jump pack rules a la seraphims or rough riders....
What about dirt bikes?? It could be cool....
As Soap says, a kind of kopter for Elysian could be great...Imagine dropping some bombs..I like it!

Choppers could also be used to air-lift stuff. Eg, Bring on a non mobile turret, or even better, giving tanks a sort of deep strike rule.

Guys, Valkyries and Vendettas are VTOLs that have hover capabilities; the future of choppers. While helicopters are great and I love them greatly, they are an anachronism in a universe with Valkyries and Vendettas; that's why the Orks use them. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a vectored thrust carrier version or a smaller version similar to the AH-6 Little Bird to carry 6 people units or minigun/rockets.
