Yes, he can take Grey Knights with Space Marines, but he cannot put them in Drop Pods. Grey Knights do not have the option for Drop Pods and Marine Drop Pods are dedicated transports, which means that they can only carry the unit they were purchased for at the beginning of the game.
Besides, you can teleport three units of Grey Knights as a Fast Attack option, and Grey Knight Terminator's can teleport normally. Putting them in Drop Pods is kind of a waste.

The rules for allies are in the daemon hunters and witch hunters codex books, and they are very specific on what you can and cannot take.

Right. From what I remember you can only take 1 Elite, HQ, or FA choice and 2 Troop choices and you can't use Inducted Guard. But the parent list (in this case the Space Marines) must still take the mandatory 1 HQ, 2 Troops.

With a few extra stipulations tossed in there to confuse and frustrate.

Of course, it wouldn't be any fun otherwise.

You can take , for example, a Grandmaster, w/Terminator Retinue a Terminator squad, two Grey Knights squads, and a Teleport Grey Knight squad.

The only advantage of dpods over teleporting is the accuracy of placement. Since you can't assault after dsing anyway, you may as well just teleport to outside rf range.

So he has long ears? Try offering some trash-talk of your own to see how he handles it. Follow-up by killing a squad. If he's a good sport, he probably just wants to match wits as well as little pieces of plastic and metal. Be clever about it.
If it seems he just wants to make you feel bad, explain that you're doing him a favor by playing with him.

Do quotes from Unreal every time a guardsman kills a Marine.

Scratch that. Do quotes from every single FPS game in the history of Man Kind.
Comment how your melta looks remarkably similar to the BFG 9000 just before you fry a marine.
Tell their Marines that they fight like Nali.
Imitate a Grunt voice whenever a lowly Guardsmen single handedly slays a Marine with a flashlight. ("Can I have his helmet?")
Sing "Can't Touch This" in an annoyingly high-pitched voice whenever a Marine fails to kill a Guardsman. Proceed to do so while doing an annoying dance on the table if this causes you to win.
Do a victory dance. On the Table. Every single time a Marine dies.
If you and the marine engage in a tank war, have a commander moon the Marine tanks.
Use annoying n00b phrases whenever possible.
When a Plasma Gunner kills himself, do a halo voice, and shout "Suicide!"

Remove his casualties with a paintball gun
Feild as many leman russes as possible and say "Can your predators do this?" when you fire your battle cannons

I assume that first one is tau. Large blast high strength/low AP spam. Glorious Hammer of the Emperor action.

you have forgot one good retort to use against marine players who constantly belittle your guardsmen in a non good humoured way, simply say:
"Funny it must be because the Emperor didn't enhance marines manhood when he enhanced everything else, thats got to be the reason your marines constantly need to prove how superior they are to my Guardsmen"

I like the one where you say "Can you predator do THIS!?" and you roll for the battle cannon.
