Just a vote on which heavies you guy use, again, just to kick off the Infantry Board, as some people would be unsure of what exactly goes here.
Anything really, from favourite Doctorines for ur guys, to why use abhumans? 2 legged or 4 legged (Rough Riders) it goes here if it walks. Sentinals too.
Have fun.

Agreed. There's something about a .50 cal firing 200 rounds a minute that soothes the soul...

Unless they are pointing at your very expensive SMurf force commander, in which case they could hit him even if he was out of range and underground in an air tight room with a large energy shield...

I play versus Orks frequently so I take plenty of heavy bolters and a mortar. Cara

I perfer to put my heavy bolters on vehicles, and good old lascannons in squads, maybe with a meltagun if I'm planing on a close range firefight. *ZARK!* Good bye, Shas'o (then again, we all know how often you find a Crisis suit in the open).

It's a toss-up between Missile Launcher and Autocannon. The AC comes out on top, though barely, because of the extra shot. Good for popping Rhinos and Dreads. I use a 50/50 (or 3/3 really) mix of autocannons and missile launchers.

The Heavy Bolters are the best. They are excelent against orks and provide great cover for advanceing allies.

I happen to like the sniper rifles, the catachan and cadian models look great. not to mention the pinning chance, and to take that the squad has light infantry infitration.

Heavy bolters, three shots, can take out troops and lightly armoured vehicles.

i actually like to pair off my favourite heavy guns to do a combined job. my faves are the mortar(but thats probably cuz im a real life mortarman) and the heavy bolter.used together i can harrass the enemy into a position to then butcher them with my heavy bolters and massed lasguns.

Missile Launchers- great all around versatile weapon. the ability to be used as both anti-tank and anti-personell cant be beat.

The AC is probably one of the most effective and verstile weapons out there. I'm probably a bit biased since I've seen them take down 4 Rhinos of my friend's Blood Angels army, allowing me that extra few turns of shooting.

I like the mortar and heavy bolter most as they're most fitting to a trench regiment. I use my mortars to pin the enemy and my heavy bolters can handle anything except for tanks.

For me it is was a close call between HB and AC, But in the end i'd have to say HB because of the extra shot and because I have really no need for high Str because i'm going to be taking out fire warriors ;D , and really you guys what chance do I have of acually getting in range of a battle suit or a hammerhead that runs away when i'm 2" out of range.
