I entirely forgot those existed. I meant to give those a shot a long time ago, but forgot entirely. I just ordered some so I'll tell ya the moment I get them, should they not fit I can always throw them on tanks.

Pretty much piling praise on praise now, but these are incredible. Amazing conversions, excellent painting and just generally fantastic job! How long did it take you to get this little lot done?
Oooh, also, I was wondering how you did the wraps holding on bayonets - Is it just tissue paper and PVA? Cheers ;D

No please, pile away. Better yet, suggest how I may improve. : P My schedule is so random that I can't really say as I can go weeks without picking up a brush. I acquired my first model, a leman russ around last Thanksgiving however. The wraps are just some twine I picked up at hobby lobby that I untwisted to make it smaller, far to large to begin with.

Count as sentinels for sure, though there are these rules floating around that I've yet to give a shot. Sure do allow for some more fun modeling them though so perhaps I should.

Hey speaking of those great sentinels! I made one of my own last night.
Two big problems first, is that the lego axels weren't long enough so had to be cut in half, I did this, but had to deal with alot of problems before I could get the right ratio.
Second, that the top half and bottom half didn't want to meet flush, there was some war/strain/tension etc. somewhere on the model, I think by that seat/intake panel. Is this human error?
If you could post a picture of the bottoms of your buggys? Just so I can know what to do next time?

Yes you've got to cut them in half, use the lego nubs to guide just strait down the middle. Yes the spoiler thing needs to be just glued under there and surprisingly it's the perfect height. Funny thing is the wheels are totally exchangeable so if ya ever find some better wheels, easy fix. Don't forget to scratch off the lego logo on the hubcap. Yes all my named guys are after literary figures... From The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes is the Master of the Fleet Mycroft Holmes is the Commander James Watson is the Astropath From Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond Dantes is a Vet Sergeant Finally from The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Henry Jekyll is a Vet Sergeant Almost forgot from Don Quixote Don Quixote de la Mancha is the biker rough rider Sergeant

You could make buggies out of Ork vehicles as well. I'd never have thought of using Land Speeders.

On the part of the model designer. You have to shave a few areas inside the land speeder, otherwise they don't fit.

I'm really liking the colour sceme you have for the army - and it's painted to a really good standard. I can only reiterate the other compliments you've already had to be honest. A real success story here me thinks! But... imagine my surprise when I read: Don't have a clue when I'll ever get Don Quixote's squad here finished... Considering I am currently working on a Baneblade with Don Quixote in the turret (along with Dulcinea and Sancho)! obviously we're both geniuses... or both mad...

Do it! Such wonderful classic literary characters really do deserve the attention. I am extremely conflicted with my paint scheme, on one hand I much prefer the more subtle whiter sand armies, however I really love this scheme on the infantry. My only real problem is that I want the tanks to match, but they currently look so flat with merely a foundation paint. I've haven't been posting anything because I've been practicing with weathering powders. Very soon I should have a new wheeled leman russ to show off. Inspiration. Firefox is a wonderful internet browser if only for the spell check alone, not to mention your a good deal safer. Or so the IT guys say.... Oh yes, had they come around earlier I'd be all over it as I simply cannot resist the wheels, but I just am not one for such a long vehicle. It is amazingly detailed so I'm tempted to chop off the back half and use it as a heavy sentinel. Time will tell. What I really want is the valkyrie they are makin' to drop in that thing. I think I'll likely chop that up as well to mix with an osprey.

hey mycroft, love what you did with all the vehicles i always thought the regular ig tanks looked kind of goofy Really? Was there anything in particular you thought looked bad? Are you talking about all Guard tanks? I actually think the Guard tanks are some of the best looking ones... each to his own I suppose...

Well they do look good, but they are clearly not designed by anyone who knows anything about tanks. I can tell this and I surely know so very little. In addition they have that clear ww2 flavor while I find there are those out there like me who want somethin' a little more modern. Not that I want Space Marine stuff, simply stuff that is better designed. There are many things that could be done to these current tank designs that wouldn't require better technology, simply a better understanding of small things such as sloping armor.
At the very least there is no reason for us not to have a jeep...

Well Jeeps (and the likes) would deffinately be cool... there was an army showcased in White Dwarf a while back that had jeeps/troop-trucks (no idea what the military name for them is ). I think I know pretty much where you're coming from on this - a more sloped armour plate will deflect incoming fire without the need to be so thick. But I reason that that's based on the solid projectiles used today - would it work so well against Lascannon etc? I don't know, and I doubt there'd really be a way to test it... As I say though, each to their own

Oh that's quite true, never know if it could do anything to that laser fire. However aren't there still a great deal of projectiles out there? Well, guess it's nothing you'd shoot at a tank. But I was just using such a thing as an example, there are a great deal of things like that, simple things that could be done to make the tanks far more modernized. I mean, I realize they are stuck in this ww2 type era of technology, but there is high tech all around them. By now some brave engineer should have tried to fuse the two. Perhaps reactive armor? As I said, I really know jack myself, I've just heard quite a few military types exclaim their distaste.
I've been tryin' to write some fluff for my army, little musings that came through my head in painting. However I also know absolutely nothing about the universe, so my concept is very self contained and could well be heresy. However, I see a tyranid apocalypse scenario on a desert planet that leaves a space marine regiment and imperial guard retreating to a base along with local civilians. With tanks all half busted, a eccentric engineer steps forward sayin' that he believes that they could be salvaged and combine. Thus much of my regiment happens to be war torn civilians who took the equipment and now are acting. Traveling from city to city finding several holed up swat teams or local militias.
