To me, Pathfinders are a pretty good way to get decent markerlight coverage on the table, though they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.
I don't usually consider them until about 2000pts, which is also around the time I start to take Markerlights in the first place. But, I generally like to take them, then use their markerlights to place hits for seeker missiles on MEQ's and vehicles, and then sometimes for the cover save removal.

They smell fishy. And all those marker lights are obnoxious. Denying my Tactical squads their 4+ coversaves

They toast up nice when a Hellhound hits them.

I hated when homeboys always targetting my pathfinders first! They are pretty fragile and tend to run from casulities easily Plus I usually need their devilfish to direct my crisis suits's deep strike, as I use a suit heavy list (including Farsight, if I want to cram some more of them in there).

I got the same problem with my hellhound, everybody's first target.

not if you play tau, hellhounds can fire a turn before devil dogs. longer range same effect on fire warriors. and tau can take one out easy in one turn ( believe me)

Pathfinders fold and run extremely easy regardless what you shoot at them with Not welled rules for their cost and abilities. Should at least have stealth.

Infact, maybe they can adopt the apocalypse rule for the deep infiltration formation into standard rules for pathfinders!

They might be able to take out hell hounds quickly, but for some reason they have trouble taking out the Hydra. Go figure.
Check out my last after action report for the campaign.

Personally I love pathfinders but I never take them with rail rifles 'cos the more markerlights the better! :-D

I like them for the devilfish ability to correct deep strike accuracy! I used a suit heavy list:
I am currenty using 15 crisis suits!
