"Jackson, move to the tree edge, set up watch over the pathway. Alert us if you see the commander, he won't be hard to spot. Look for the battlesuit that seems to be in command, and/or the decorated one.
Rest of you, move in position to seize the outpost. We will be acting as a distraction for a sniper who by now, is probably almost in position. Our attack will lure Stormsurge into us, and give the sniper a clear shot.
Now move!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adley signaled the team to halt. They had been caught out in the storm, but at least it would provide some concealment.
Kellet had parted ways with the group sometime earlier, as she had orders to make her way to Rosh's team, in case Stormsurge ended up showing at that outpost.
Of course, at least they still had the crew chief, who was also cross-trained as a sniper.
"Here's the plan. The chief sets up along the main pathway to this out post, and the rest of us set up ambush positions around the outpost. If Stormsurge does show up, we open fire, drawing him out into coming straight at us, and hopefully giving our sniper a clear shot."
OOC: The crew chief is there because he is the only NPC not created by me, and since someone wants to jump in, is the most flexible option. The other three NPCs already have events that I have planned out for them, and thus, it would be easier to give up the crew chief, who I did not insert into the RP.

Crew chief Danzel nodded "Yes sir" he said quietly in his thick catachan accent.
He was, like most guardsmen from catachan, a large man. but he moved like a ghost. Strapped to his back he had a twenty four inch combat knife, holstered at his hip an autopistol was holstered adn he held a modified long-las in his hands. He was grinning, his teet were incredibly white standing out against his tanned skin and the swirls of dark green cmoflauge paint oj his skin

Wes began to move quickly towards the outpost, hugging cover with practised ease. He gave a double comm click to indicate he was in assault position.

Lance got to his feet after the blast knocked him over. As he looked over the blasted wall of the cabin for Sal he immediatly regretted it. As all he saw was a smouldering crater, he knew that the fire warrior's shot must've hit the fuel tank of her heavy flamer. Lance grabbed his backpack and hoisted it onto his back. Several of his squadmates lay around him. He immediatly opened his bag and began taking supplies from their. Two clips of ammo from Arnolds, a bundle of frag grenade from Cyle, and an additional clip for his grenade launcher from Fallman. He checked the vox but it didn't work, a big hole burned through it. He took up the red scarf and tied it around his helmet over his gasmask. His wife had made that scarf as a good luck charm, and it sure as hell worked. He activated his short range vox in his helmet, after a short burst of static he began to speak. "To any surviving Imperial forces. This is Brother-sergeant Lance Maxis of the Iron Templar Imperial Guard Planetary Assualt Corp. Vetran Devision, Squad Ten, do you read me!" A calm voice bled through the static "Yes, I hear you. Can you get to these co-ordinates?"

Levin pulled his goggles up from his eyes, tried to wipe the water from his scope. Visibility was terrible, fifteen, maybe twenty metres. If the tau were as good shots as they said, it was probably for the best. He crouched in some coarse greenery in sight of Alexei. If there was one thing he'd learned on Caitiff, it was that the man with the loudest gun tended to get shot first.
He considered the nearest soldiers. 'Fire Warriors', he'd heard the others call them. Skinny and tall in strange rounded armour. Nothing an overcharged shot couldn't melt through, he told himself. Then muttered it out loud, hoping he'd believe it more.
He heard an explosion somewhere in the distance and saw the others flinch.

Lance ran like a man possessed. His hell-pistol let loose a trio of shots of taking a firewarrior twice in the chest and once in his head. He unhooked the grenade launcher from his backpack and fired a frag grenade into their midst, letting the prosthetic absorb the recoil. He was followed by a trail of pulse fire his shoulder plate heated up as a bolt flew over his shoulder as he ran into the forest, but he didn't care. To his salvation, A rescue platoon or maybe even dare he think it, a regiment!

Jackson had calmly scanned the clearing it didn't feel right. He turned his com back on and spoke threw it.
"I've got 5 battle suits..... in a V formation in front of the main door. 2 more on the roof. a handful of fire warrior units and fire holes with heavy turrets" Jackson considered there position carefully. "There spaced out carefully. Slightly on edge.... there waiting..... for an attack......somethings happened....."
Looking down the street he saw several transports heading towards him
"Sir i see a transport caravan.... There reinforcing this position...."
Crawling back so the transports don't pick him up on there sensors Jackson made the worst mistake possible. He forgot to check what was behind him.
There was a small clunk. He looked behind his shoulder too see a stealth battle suit which was moving around under the cover of the rain.
The suit turned towards him and looked down at Jackson lying on the ground. A blade came from under the arm of the stealth suit and swung down to crush Jackson.... However Jackson was quicker. Pulling out his tyrnat blade Jackson made one quick lunge into the stealth suits helmet. The warrior fell as quickly as quietly as he came.
"Jackson here! All men be on the look out for stealth suits patrolling the forest, Just took down one. My position is still unknown."

Rosh started cursing. They assault commander must've sent in an advance force to establish a beachhead, meaning that they were already here. Too far ahead of schedule....But the warp is unpredictable, and the commander was under orders. Still, the accursed commander could've made sure his men would be careful enough to make sure Stormsurge was dead first
"All units," began Rosh over a vox link, "Our cover is blown, and the assault force is already here. The mission has been changed. Primary objective is to now capture these two outposts to establish a safe LZ, secondary is to find and eliminate Stormsurge. However, eliminating Stormsurge is no longer our concern. Do not worry, what has been promised before will still be given."
Switching it off, he shouted to his unit.
"Watch out, they knew we would be here!"
That fact was plain enough. A massive cadre of Tau Firewarriors, supported by battlesuits, and although he couldn't locate them, most certainly supported by stealth teams and pathfinders, made their way to the outpost.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adley cursed on hearing the transmission. Well, this was now the first mission they've failed....
"My men, watch for Stormsurge, I don't care what Rosh says, if you find Stormsurge, take him out."

Wes was up and moving by the time he was saying to establish an LZ. He's spotted an AA position in the compound and was going to knock it down. He vaulted the perimetre was practised ease, and moved into the base.
He scanned his surroundings, he had no incoming fire. He swept his carbine round, checked the lasgun charge and racked the shotgun. He grinned and brought the weapon up to his shoulder and began to move forward at a crouch.

Levin watched as several of the tau turned and ran in the direction of the explosion. He could just make out a building close to the cover of the forest, but rain obscured his sight. He turned up to the crew chief in the tree.
"Hey Danzel!" He hissed. "Danzel, uh, sir." The man looked down from his scope. "Corporal Rutteau, medic, sir, good to be with you. Do you have a view on that building, 9 o clock, close to the forest canopy? Can you see any hostiles around it? Could be an entrance point with minimal attention..."

"Ack frack it" Alexei said watching the smoke grenade land near the compound. The Firewarriors were grabbing weapons and he wasn't about to let them kill him. He squeezed the trigger letting a burst of fire smash into the 3 front xenos. They dropped clutching mulitple wounds. He then began to fire onto the rest of the group that had begun shooting back.

Chief Danzel aimed at one of the leading fire warriors and pulled the trigger even before he knew the target was down he was leaping from the tree and diving into the foliage
+++Rutteau cover me im going for the building+++ He voxed as he began to make his way towards the tau position.
He crouched down once in the shelter of a tree, aimed at the optical sensor of a crisis suit and fired the shot smashed into the battlesuits 'head' causing it to stagger back. he moved again into more cover

No one was going to out shoot Jackson this mission. He fired several sniper rounds at the tau battle suits bringing 2 down before the others started fighting back. The battle suits started spraying the trees in an attempt to flush out this sniper. No luck to them. Jackson loaded acidic rounds into his sniper. This will be fun..... Using 5 shots from the ten acidic rounds Jackson brought down 3 more battle suits. Only 2 left .....one on the roof .... and one moving towards an AA mount near the edge of the clearing.... one left ....someone just crushed the head of the other.
Pulling out his shotgun and attaching a bayonet Jackson headed in, tossed krack grenade, and another smoke....
Jackson ran into the fight.
However he didn't reach a fight. He reached a door.
Entering the tower carefully Jackson heads into the upper base. "**** ...I'm alone... in the LZ for an invasion.....in a base which may .....or may not..... have the commander inside of it....."
"This mission is getting better all the time....."

The Tau army arrived. Ranged shots, followed by massive bombings, sending both teams into cover.
"Contact! Stormsurge's been sighted! Rosh, get your boys over here!"
"Adley, we have to take these outposts."
"SCREW the outposts! Leave that to the guard, we MUST kill Stormsurge."
"...."
"God-Dammit Rosh, we've never failed a mission yet!"
"My team, break contact, double time it back to Adley's position. Adley, ETA is about 10 minutes."
"...Better than nothing."
The Tau army trained their guns skyward, blasting apart transports, causing metal and fire to rain on the ground. Assuming the way was clear, the Imperials were thrown into disarry, and as the surviving transports disgorged their troops, confusion reigned. Guardsmen were every where, fighting in make shift units, taking orders from whoever seemed to be having a good idea at the time. As the engagment distance was close to nothing, it was a furious battle, rapid fire pulses sending death in all directions.
It was the perfect territory for Stormsurge.
The commander weaved into groups of guardsmen, always escaping harm. Living up to his name, he ruthlessly pounded the Imperials, before landing amongst them, smashing apart guardsmen, before taking flight again.
Slyati spotted the commander, and fired off a burst of plasma, making her mark, but doing no visible damage, only gaining his attention.
As it jetted forwards, Slyati fired shot after shot after shot, before she noticed the tell tale signs in her plasma gun. Waiting until the last possible moment, she screamed, and threw her gun at Stormsurge, only to watch as it simply clunked off the explosion only maiming a few firewarriors nearby.
She saw him tear through the comms trooper-she didn't remember his name-by ramming its gun barrel through his stomach.
In a horrified gaps, she realised it was pointed at her.
Then the world ended in a white fire.

Wes crashed into the AA tower his gun spitting hot death to the control crew. He knelt close to what he believed to be the master control panel and took out one of his fragmentation grenades, priming the fuse he used some basic med tape to secure the grenade to what he thought to be a power conduit. Moving quickly Klivian sheltered behind some boxes and emerged once his bomb had detonated. He clicked his commbead.
"This is Klivian AA tower is secure. All guard units rally on this marker."

" jumping..... landing..... jumping... stand still!!"
Jackson was peering out the window of a tower following Stormsurge with his scope... with the last of the acidic rounds clipped in .....he just needed the bugger to stand still!
Then Jackson had his moment. The commander stood still only to stab a solider threw the chest and blast another in the face. However that's all a good sniper needed.
He fired the last of his acidic armor piercing clip into the back of the commanders battle suit. He saw the commander hit the ground.... and watched in awe as the commander stood back up.....
"Spawn of a carnifex." Jackson cursed as the commander turned to face him. Jackson pulled out his shotgun and took several steps back from the window.
The commander had reached the window faster then Jackson thought possible. Jackson fired off a couple of rounds at Stormsurge, as Stormsurge blew apart the room. Jackson was forced to dive into the corner of the room and pick up a sheet of metal to cover himself with as the room was blown to scraps. Jackson pulled out his mike. " SOMEONE SHOOT THE DAM COMMANDER!"
After a incredibly long second Jackson's shield was blown off and with no other obvious option he charged straight at the commander with his tyrant blade drawn..... secretly hoping someone would bring the commander down before it blew Jackson apart.

Klivian had managed to rally a small fire team of assaulting guardsmen at the AA tower. They held the position well, shooting down any Tau who attempted to retake the tower. Klivian snapped off hell-gun shots at anything that looked like it wasn't human.
He saw the battle suit decending it's plasma rifle glowing. He fired on full auto at the target. The rounds stitched the target slamming mostly into it's shoulder and arm, He saw the weapon in the arm begin to smoke. He tried to fire again but felt the sharp click of a hell-gun out of ammo, he drew back into cover and reloaded and when he came back into position the suit had moved.
Klivian sighed and went back to shooting Fire Warriors.

Levin fired a few rounds after the advancing sniper, dropping one of the aliens and causing another to dive for cover before a bright shot of energy hit the tree he was crouching behind, burning through it and impacting, weakened, with his flak armour. Levin screamed at the heat, flicking the clasps and throwing his chest plate to the ground, gasping and checking his chest on the floor. Burns, maybe a broken rib. No broken skin or internal bleeding, so nothing that would take him out of action before the adrenaline wore off.
He pulled himself upright, wincing. The whole plan had gone to hell faster than he imagined - guardsmen were falling from the sky and being slaughtered by the battlesuits. He'd heard screams through his commbead, but had no idea where they were coming from, or even what team he was in anymore. Keeping low and staying within the forest canopy, he moved between prone soldiers. Dead. Dead. Bleeding out and nothing he could do - he gave the screaming guardsman a shot of painkillers. The dose would last him until he was gone. He moved on, taking advantage of the camouflage of his cloak and his distracted opponents to drop any warriors that moved too close.
He pulled the flak armour off a hapless (and now headless) guardsman, strapping it on in place of his own.Aa holstered democharge from a pouch on the man's belt also ended in Levin's pack as he muttered a thanks to the man's spirit. Dishonourable, he'd heard, but nothing he hadn't done a thousand times on Caitiff. Besides, poor bastard wasn't using it anymore...
He crouched in a small depression in the ground, clicked his comm bead.
"The is Corporal Rutteau - I'm seperated. Please advise on your locations."

Stormsurge paused in front of the charging guardsmen.
Her battle plan was....no had gone to pieces. The simulations had never accounted for-
"Gue'la Astartes! Astartes! They're here!"
Glancing upwards, she saw the bulky, primitive pods start raining down. Damn them, just when her soldiers were getting the upper hand....
She was needed elsewhere.
Slapping the side of the gue'la's head, she jetted away to meet to newcomers, glancing back, she figured the hit was nonlethal. No matter, she had bigger...What was the human phrase? Ah yes, she had bigger fish to fry.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"By the Throne! Space Marines! The Space Marines! Rally you dogs! We are the Imperial Guard! It's time we acted like it!!!"
The Guard survivors were soon bolstered by the 6th Company of the Ghost Wolves chapter. As drop pods fell from the sky, the famed Astartes stormed out, ripping apart the Tau fire warriors who had the misfortune to be in their path. Jet packs flared as Assault Marines and Battlesuits took to the sky, raining death on both sides. More transports flared from orbit, reinforcements.
However, the Tau received reinforcements as well. Fire Caste soldiers, attacking in legions entered the fray, standing at range, searing replies of death countering the marines. Stormsurge's cadre of battlesuits arrived as well, engaging marines in a dance of death, the Tau holding their own against the mighty Astartes.
The battlefield of the twin outposts became a raging whirlwind of destruction, and bodies lay everywhere, both Tau, Guard, and in a few cases, Asartes.
Rosh swore again. In the middle of this mad melee, he and KT-154 still had a mission to do...
Adley emptied his pistols into a charging battlesuit and dived aside, as it crashed into a tree, exploding in flames, raining shrapnel on a few guardsmen unlucky enough to have chosen that area to fight.
Rosh himself rushed a squad of fire warriors, as he lept into them, firing his pistol at point-blank range, and drawing his sword. He weaved among the slow and clumsy attempts to hit him, and his power sword sliced through the hapless fire warriors, their blood showering Rosh.
Kellet stayed calm. There was a body lying on top of her, in what would otherwise be a rather awkward position. Occasionally someone steped on her. And then someone else fell on her. Soon, as Kellet remained still, she found herself in a makeshift pit of bodies. She pushed away a body in front of her, feeling something squish in her hands, and extended her rifle.
It was hard to tell which commander was Stormsurge at first, but then she found the ornate armor of the commander. God damn, he was moving fast..... She watched as the commander dived into a duo of marines, crushing one under the weight the suit, and immolating the other.
Suddenly, the scope was dark. Frowning, she turned it a little. Still dark, taking it off her eyes, she saw the gun barrel of a fire warrior.
"Oh thro-"

Klivian saw the Astartaes pods landing and grinned..."Look at those angels men, raining death onto the filthy aliens, now men of the emperor up and at them, Killian attatched his combat knife to his hellgun and charged to meet the fire warriors, he smoothly slid into the line of warriors, his hand on the trigger of the underslung shotgun, blasting scatter rounds and jabbing with blade in the scrum of the melee.
