Ok I am trying out a mordian color scheme for my guard. Reasons I am constantly changing my mind about color schemes and I am a civil war reenactor so the idea of troops fighting in ordered lines in blue uniforms really made me want an army. I will use normal plastic cadians. But this is where the problem lies, the mordian models have no visible armor as the cadians do, so what color should I make their body armor. Should it be red or blue with red highlights I cannot decide. Or blue armor with red shoulder straps to replace the scales(shoulder guards).

ever consider giving them all jungle fighters? costs no points, good representation of WYSIWYG armor, gives em advantages on the field (free infiltrate is always nice, shoot thru 12" of forest, 4+ save in forest, move freely thru forest - that's alot of advantages for going WYSIWYG at no cost pointwise)

Well the idea behind mordians is to stand firm in a line and expose yourself to the enemy and then when they mistake you for new fish because of the brightly colored uniforms they then taste their mistake and get a face full of organized las volley. So the doctrines will reflect their fighting style Docts Iron discipline Heavy weapon platoons Close order drill Independent commissars Camoline(kneeling and such will give you cover and the Mordians use some earthworks.
and alot of the battles will be in the city because that is the board we have in my freinds basement.

Acually I was going to suggest black armour to bring out the contrast, between the bright colors and the black but ya beat me to it. lol I would just leave it black with maybe a dark grey thin highlight, yaeh that would look good. I think the one on the left looks better, the one on the right looks like a too busy color sceme.

I dunno...Mordians look cool, but i wouldn't play them, they're just too far out there on the unrealisticness. If you lined up a bunch of guys in blue-and-red dress uniforms, they'd get kreamed in 10 secons of MG fire.

However in a crambed space like a city or in a long street a squad or two of close ordered bayonet wielding iron guards would do great against heretic uprisings and creating barriers or chokepoints that lead the enemy towards a fire base or into one of their platoons which make the coherent bayonet thrust very effective....but yeh would still suck to get mowed down by mg fire. but hey its 40k stuff like that happens. but its pretty useful on the tabletop game where a heavy bolter could only take out a max of 3 guys in a squad per turn
