Better BS, better survivability and more flexible than regular platoons. You can also take chimeras and more tanks. Do not have to take mechanised infantry as a doctrine... And for fun, it is great to field a stormtroopers company...

I have an all stormtrooper force and I have only played one game with it so far. It didn't turn out great, but I linking that to the fact it was Escalation vs necrons and he had a monolith, and i had to wait for all m stuff because of chimeras. Anyways... good things to have in a Grenadier heavy army is obviously the great amounts of special weapons... and I would have to say tanks help a good bit. Dont want tanks?... take some mobs of normal troopers to clog things up a bit.

Stormtroopers pack a heavier punch on the field armed with carapace armour, they can hold out longer in assault and each squad can wield two special weapons which means extra armour piercing firepower agenst marines and other well armoured troops!

Hooah! The basic Grenadier costs only 4 points more than a basic guardsman, but carries frag grenades, krak grenades, a targeter, and carapace armor (6 points of wargear), the super-flashlight (almost as effective as the vaunted Boltgun), and benifits from both increased accuracy and leadership. Only 2/3rds the cost of a Space Marine, Grenadiers are only marginally less effective at short-ranged firefights, nearly as good as holding terrain, and maringally better in assault due to their weight of numbers and cheap powersword.
On the field, a Grenadier army is an imposing force. Avaliable in Mechanized (chimeras) and airborne (Valkyries), with their big brothers the Stormtroopers having even greater mobility for the cost of a grenade (Infiltrate and Deep Strike), an elite regiment can force the enemy to engage an accurate, heavy firing line before artillery can soften up the troopers.
