So, playing against orks today, and my regular opponent, who loves his big mek with KFF, put his mek down behind a battlewagon, with 2 3-kan units of killa kans and a trukk and some boys nearby. He uses the KK's like "arms" and always leaves a trailer close to the mek. I measured the area the KFF was protecting, and it was about 3 square feet.
Legal in the rules, absolutely. And 5th ed is full of cover saves. But still, it's a looooot of area for an item that protects units within X inches..

Well, the twin-linked lascannons put him away in time for me to fry his armor, but, man, what a headache!

Nothing is a bigger pain than vehicles with cover saves. That's why high-strength templates are the way to go.
