I was just goofing around with the old Cult list from way back, looks like it could be a lot of fun...so many genestealers...
and a leman russ too!

So how do you think it'll work in 5th edition?
Stealers in the cult list gain a 5+ coversave if they do not run.
they may not outflank or infiltrate, but if you hold them in reserve they may enter play on any turn without the need to roll for them.

Did you use the latest list, by BoLS? The one they released after the nid codex, this year?
The only thing that puts me off is that Brood Brothers have laspistol/cc, and can't have lasguns. It makes it damned expensive, especially if you buy FW arms. Also sentinels or proper IG infantry platoons, with lasguns, as a Heavy Support choice - just weird.

This is the original codex
brood brother comrades(The two units I used above 0-2 max) can have lasguns/autoguns/pistols and cc weapons.
brood brother initiates have cc weapons but can be upgraded to carry various other weapons for 1 point each.
Initiates are basically conscripts(A single unit of 10-20 can infiltrate!) Comrades are guardsmen with higher Ld and I

Original Codex? You mean the Rogue Trader one? Or one of the two 2nd Ed ones? Or the Citadel Journal version? Or the first BoLS one? There have been a lot of Stealer Cult Lists over the years.
How many Models in that Heavy Weapon Team? If that's just three dudes like the IG ones, you got robbed. If it's a full 10, that seems maybe reasonable.
I've actually been fooling around with using the Nid List itself and some Counts As for a Stealer Cult. Gaunts of various kinds for Brood Brothers with different Weapons, Hormagaunts for unarmed Hybrids, Magi as 'Thropes, build some mini-Sentinels or something for Hive Guard, a Prime or Tyrant as a Patriarch, a "Command Squad" of 10 dudes, two per 40mm Base, as Warriors, maybe some Heavy Mortar Teams, counting as Biovores and Culties with Jump Packs as Gargoyles.

6 men total in the heavy weapon squad, I'm paying 30 points extra vs the IG equivalent.(with ld 8!)

Hmm, 30 Points for immunity to Instant Death and the ability to take 3 Wounds before you've got to pull a Lascannon? I think that'd be worth it.
