So I am thinking about making an Ork army that runs nothing but Killa Kanz, Deff Dreads and some fire support from Ork Boyz and Lootaz. Will certainly be running to Meks with KFF for that sweet, movable cover save.
Has anyone played this list- or played against it? Thoughts?

There's one of the downsides Seven. People will keep yelling that during your games

Sounds like an upside to me. If Orks are on the table I think its a bit odd if -someone- isn't yelling.

Havoc has a Kan wall list posted somewhere (can't remember which section though). I've faced something similar, and it's hard for any army in Power Armour, save for Sisters, to get enough outgoing shots to stop them before they hit your battle line. Watch out for Triple Exorcist Witch Hunters, CSM with Daemon Princes, and any IG, and you'll be fine.

How are you equiping and fielding the Deff Dreads? Are you planning to hide them behind the kanz or are you planning to use them as fire bait to keep the heat off of the kanz?

Haven't decided on how to equip the Dreads or the Kans honestly. Was hoping for some suggestions. The Dreads are fire bait, true, they are also bodyguards if opponents try to sneak in and off the Big Meks. Plus- well- they look awesome.

I've got one dread and three kans which have yet to see battle as they've yet to see paint. That said equiping the dread with the two extra close combat weapons makes it look pretty fearsome which I'm thinking will add that extra psychological factor when it comes to drawing fire. Since it can't shoot and grot riggers are cheap I tend to add those and extra armour which makes it as expensive as an Ork dread can get (maybe draw even more fire from a canny oponent).
I'm thinking of getting another dread at some point and giving it big shootas to help it project a bit of firepower and to add variety.
All three of my kans have rokkits because Orks don't have any one unit that seems to get the job done for shooting so I think that adding in some redundancy is an idea.
By the way love the idea of the dreads as bodyguards for the meks! Maybe you should put a magnet on the hull of one or two of your dreads and attach a chain lead between the dread and the mek (then just detach the magnet when they move apart or one is killed).

I like the chain ideas. Pretty clever.
I'm thinking of having my Dreads run Flamers over range weapons. I think with the Lootas, Shoota Boys and Kans I'll have all the Dakka I need. I want two, clanky, chained Dreads hitting my enemies line and putting on a BBQ the Emperor will be able to smell from his Golden Throne.

One thing I never understood about Burna boyz is if they dont use their flamers shooting they count as power weapons? what do they do, stick them in a crack of the armour and roast the inside?

Well, if pretend Science has taught us anything it is that Orks- are crazy.
But not, necessarily, stupid.
Firing out a stream of deadly flame in an uncontrollable wash of molten death at point blank range is stupid.
Firing out a stream of deadly flame at point blank range AND WIELDING IT LIKE A CLUB- is crazy.
And Orks- are crazy.

Deff Dreads equipped with four dreadnought close combat weapons can be lots of fun if they get the charge in. They are also kind of expensive so otherwise, slap some burnas on them and let them do some flamey killyness.
Give the Kans things like Big Shootas, Rokkit Launchas, Mega Blastas, or other weapons that will benefit from the Grot pilot's increased ballistic skill.
How are you equipping the Koptas?

Prob just rockets. They can become pretty expensive with the Buzzsaw.
I'll have to play around with the points to decide exactly. The Koptas are basically Alpha Strike suicide bombers that Scout ahead first turn and attempt to pop light armor. If there is room for the close combat upgrade in the points- I may end up decking them out and having them tie the enemy lines up for a turn while my wall of death marches forward.

They often have enormous amounts of missiles and Rune Priest can snipe any KFFs away quite easily (and then they use Living Lightning to take out kans). They also tend to have significant amounts of meltas and can hit back in CC (PF and MotW). And even after that when boys finaly get in contact with them Space Wolves tend to do enormous amounts of damage in Counter Charge (if they didn't charge themself).
