Hi, I'm planning to start an Imperial Guard Air cav list
For my HQ: CCS 4x melta Astropath
mounted in Vendetta Troop choice: Vet squad: 3x plasma mounted in vendetta
Vet Squad 3x melta mounted in vendetta
Heavy support: Leman Russ main battle tank flamer front sponsons flamer side sponson
Elite: Marbo
My plan is to have the Valk and vendettas outflank and scout, with Marbo appearing on the board to take out any really powerful unit. Also the Melta squads and vendettas act as tank and/or heavy infantry hunters. The Plasmas are for anti heavy infantry.
Please critique

Sounds like a pretty standard AirCav list.. I like the fact that your bringing a Leman, it is a great unit.. Now some thoughts that spring to mind: - 2 troop choices 2/3 you'll be playing objective games.. 2 choices are okay, but these are gonna be right infront of the enemy to do their job, Guard tend not to survive that long at this range.. Might consider getting a 3. vet squad to hide on a home objective..? - Only 1 tank on the table, if you outflank, then it will be all alone and again things tend to die pretty quickly then.. Sure if you reserve that one too, then it isn't a problem.. - Marbo is a wild card and he fit this list okay, just hope he dosn't come in alone.. Other than that it is a pretty solid list..

I would have to agree with Kras. Personally, I would drop the flamer sponsons on the Russ and replace Marbo with another vet squad, I'd say with an Autocannon and a grenade launcher. Camp the autocannon Vet squad on an objective, park the Russ nearby to give it fire support and then send in the valks.
You might want to look at RT's air cavalry thread in the tactics section for tips on how to play them, he's come up with some fun tricks you can pull with your birds.
