Right, sadly the USB empirespy offered to lend me doesn't fit my camera, so that's not very good. I probably can't sort it until half term, (a week on staurday), which is also pretty bad. But I am still painting, so hopefully a big (ish) update in the fairly near future!

Right, well I owe you all a big apology. I was playing around with my USB and it worked! Sadly I'm at my Dad's and don't have acess to all my minis, but i can post what I have. So... The second half of 1st squad. And... The whole squad together. Once again I'm very sorry about my lack of posting, as I could have done this much sooner.

I do now; mine had broken, (the hairs were all stuck together) but I replaced it today. Anyway, time for a major update. In the order that I painted them... The second rogue pysker. A converted priest. A heavy weapons squad. A commissar equivalent. And a platoon command squad. And beacuse I felt like it... A full army pic. C&C always welcome.

Double post. Not bad for a days work methinks. Could someone tell me why the thread symbol is red and burning, I'm confused...

Post by Gabriel Lupus on May 29, 2011 14:48:32 GMT -5
A "red burning" thread symbol means "hot topic" or something similar... something to do with the amount of posts received over a certain time... or something like that... That's some fast work Shostak... are you planning to attend the next meet up with an entirely new (and Heretical) force?

Sadly I doubt it. After half term I'm involved in a German Exchange and then am off to France for a holiday so that leaves me a bit short of time. And I doubt if I can afford to buy the amount of stuff required in such a short time.
When I get the stuff I have built and painted I'll have about 750 points worth of minis. To get up to 1500 points I would need something like 2 battle forces worth, 2 Chimera kits and a load more FW/ marauder horsemen stuff, so expensive.

i'd like to make a comment here about people from south yorkshire being dodgy and able to get things they cant afford but i dont want to offend and i'm sure thats more specific to people from rotherham any way. (i grew up there and i'm dodgy)

Hmm, I like them, but the 8 pointed star could be cleaner...

BG. Foster. I'm not from Yorkshire, I'm from Dorset. Walrus. Thanks mate, I might go back and redo those stars, aster a day making and painting them I kind of wanted just to stop.

I recommend stopping when you feel a lack of drive, when you done quality tends to drop a little because you are trying to rush to finish

I'm just gonna come out and say it. I don't think you did a very good job on the skin. Maybe its that their too pale. Or something. But on a positive note the Sentenel's footing and armour look fantastic.

Thanks for the critique mate, do you know any way I can improve. At the moment I use as mix of tallarn flesh, bleached bone and rotting flesh, drybrushed with rotting flesh and then washed with devlan mud, but I'm always looking to improve my technique.

OK, I made the guys on Monday, but since have had a weeks break from the hobby. I painted them up over the weekend. It's the second squad of my platoon. C&C always welcome.

You've really got the grimy effect down to a point, and the eyes are looking really good.

So yesterday I painted up this squad. No real difference to the other two squads really, but I thought I'd show you all the same.

Triple post! As well as the ones for my veterans, I had three legs left; so I built and painted this. One stubber team complete with loader and spotter, so it is compatible with Tempest, (at least I think so). The veterans are assembled and will be undercoated later this evening.
