Hi everyone, been a while since I was last here, getting the inspiration for my BP Halftracks, but now I'm working on a 2000 pt Blood Pact / IG army for a tournament so I thought I'd share my progress: This is my take on Dan Abnett's Blood Pact, with some changes to suit my tastes and resources. The most obvious change being the brighter red, DA's description is that they wear the colour of dried blood, but I wanted something brighter for the table, and also I felt inspired by the old Action Force "Red Force" from the early 80's which had similar style elements. In the books the Pact use N20 halftracks in a variety of configurations, I have used these in place of Chimeras, and for tanks I have chosen to model the AT-70, which whilst not exactly accurate will be a Leman Russ in game. Alll of this is WIP and much of it has been further developed since these photos were taken: Hellhound Progress Chimera (three of these are under construction) Manticore AT-70 As I don't have appropriate models for my Pact Stormtroopers, my Nurgle Septic Infantry will be making an appearance - here are some of them More photos tomorrow as my Death Brigade / Veterans will be complete.

are those the EZ Build Halftracks? If so, I use em for my Hydras, only a bit longer then a chimera unfortunately.
They look great, look forward to seeing more, maybe use some as inspiration.

Yep, the New Ray ones. I have a Hydra in progress too. I ordered a Puppets war turret for it but it doesn't look like it'll be here in time, so I may have to use my Forgeworld turret on a temporary mount. Temporary so I can swap that back to my Loyalist IG after the tournament and once the Puppetswar one is here.

I simply used the Quad gun off the Aegis defense line set, doesn't look too far out of place:

Looking good Tainly, I recommend some things though for force cohesion and sinister appearance :
1. Darker red for the tanks and infantry. Trust me scab red would work wonders 2. Those septic infantry are cool but not tournament appropriate and don't look particularly BP like. The BP use Gore Mages ( khornate psykers ) so perhaps psyker battle squads would be more appropriate ? 3. The Death Brigade are more like veterans so I'd say either drop the Stormies or convert infantry with heavier gear and hellguns..... 4. Instead of Ogryns why not use Loxatl ? The Dark Eldar Slyth could be a good basis on which to convert ?

I agree with Ivory (twice in 2 posts) the red is too vibrant and the loxatl idea sounds good. Although I disagree with the base for them, I think the Lizardmen Razordons would fit better. This however is due to how I picture them when I read about them.

Might have to have a go at them myself, or not as I have enough half finished projects as it is.

Thanks for the feedback, just to respond to some of it: The quad gun looks good, and would have been alternative, but I'd already spent the money on the Puppetswar one, so didn't really want to spend more on something that would eventually be replaced. As for the red, scab red is fine other than it comes in a urine-ant pot for over $5 and you can't get it in a rattle can. I needed something quick, and the darkest red I could find war Army Painter's Dragon Red. This is a bit brighter, but then I quite like bright models on the tabletop, that's one of the reasons I came back to 40K - I got tired of muted tones after 15 years of gaming with 20th century stuff. Once the vehicles have had a wash, and been weathered they'll look less bright too. Re the Septic infantry, they are fine in every tournament I've been to - I don't play in GW stores, and we're on the west coast here - it's all cool! In addition they aren't going to be in this army for ever, they are just a stop gap for OFCC where I need to use Codex only stuff to make 2000 points. At 1500 or when FW is allowed I have plenty of other BP items. Re Loxatl - I may add some eventually but after this army, (what I need for next week) I have an AT-83 to complete, plus some IA versions of the halftracks. There's mention of Death Brigade Veterans - so here's the first few I completed last night, it's not a squad just the first few guys I got done, the others are on the painting table - another 21 figures I think. Bases will be finished later in a batch with the rest of the army, to maintain the consistency of colours.

I was going to say can you not put a wash on them to make it look a little darker. The other option would have been a red oxide car primer or a black base coat underneath.
Where did the Death Brigade legs come from?

I'm liking those vehicles, they look great all dirtied up
My only suggestion would be to add kill markings/chaos graffiti etc to make them look even more 'untidy'.
This is going to be one awesome army!

That's true, you have an amazing collection of Blood Pact units. An inspired and full of character force I would love to fight.

Thanks everyone!
I'll post up more pics of the infantry after the weekend - right now I'm struggling to get them all done for tomorrow when I need to pack them up and head over the border!
The halftracks are the New Ray 1/35 scale M3 and M16 variants.
