"I have to agree with Paimon. While I did mention her as starting the vote, I wasn't necessarily accusing her. The Imperium is built upon sacrifice and often that is what needs to happen to keep it functioning. We can't survive this without voting people out and the ones who throw in a vote right in the end are rather suspicious to me."
Wraelis looks at Shostak contemplatively. "Right now, I've got my eye on Shostak"

"Emptyhat remains near the top of my list which, but I have only one vote, and barring rational arguments, I will keep my finger pointed where I believe it most deserving. If you recall yesterday, I called for everyone to create a list which ranks those people that they find most to least suspicious, or at least categorizes between those that they are highly suspicious of, and those that they merely have their eye on.
"Our purpose is to find the traitor, or traitors among us, and kill them. We have one method for fairly determining the next to die. We must use this method as impartially as possible or else we will all die. Do not ask me to regret voting, for I will not. I regret the necessity, and the mistake, but the fact remains that we must kill the zeno.
"Wraelis following my lead for a second time unnerves me, and I fear blind unity almost as much as I fear mindless accusations. His words strike me as someone who has felt the eye of death pass by them, for he falls in the same category as Shostak as per my previous criteria ,and is eager for someone else to die in his place. This might just be my own paranoia trying to sneak through, but I feel this way nevertheless."

"Hmm, that's a valid point wrelise". His natural colour had returned, and the emotion from the shock of daves death was not as visable. "I don't understand why Shostak is in the firing line after last nights rantings from Emptiehat. He is definitely high on the suspects list. Was his ranting from drugs?, what he had seen? Or had his body even been possessed? Eitherway, it was him that turned us against the ganger. And yes, the ganger might have been an easy target for us all to be swade towards. He was a criminal after all, but innocent none the less".
"So, Mr Emptiehat. How are we feeling today? Come on! Speak!"

Shostak suddenly laughs.
"Being eager for someone else to die in his place? That is grounds for your suspiscion? Who here would prefer to take the bullet in place of somebody else?"
Shostak settles down somewhat.
"I see that I need to defend myself somewhat. While I couldn't be certain of who was the guilty party, and was clearly proved wrong with disastrous results I believe and always have believed in decisive action rather than incessant dalliance. I had reasons to suspect Purple Dice, ones that were very similar to your own, and so I voted against him. That is all there is to it."
He turns to Wraelis.
"You say that you mistrust those who through in their votes at the end. If I remember correctly, you added your vote after me. You rightly claim that we have to vote to survive, but apparently mistrust anyone that doesn't make their judgement immidiately. And you tell me of how this Imperium is built on sacrifice, when the life that I was building was swept away in an instant in the name of the God Emperor of Mankind. I feel that you have been far to quick to agree with Paimon. I have my eye on you sir."
Shostak finally turns to speak directly at Paimon, seemingly calmed from his earlier outburst.
"You mistrust me, suspect me as a killer even. I can accept that. You have your reasons, and have justified them well. All that I can do is assure you that I am not the guilty party here, and do my best to prove this to you before the day runs its course. You ask for a list of people I suspect and do not suspect? Very well. I mistrust Wraelis, Emptyhat, Adkenpachi, and yourself, while I feel more confident in the loyalties of Soap. Rook is an unknown quantity to me."
"In the meantime, I echo Soap's demand for answers from Emptyhat. His ravings brought about Purple's death as much as what the ganger said himself. Also Adkenpachi, how come you enter so clearly well washed and with a change of clothes, and why are you suddenly so keen to divulge your life story to us? And Rook, you have been very quiet, and did not participate in the last vote. I would like to hear more from you, please share your views with us sir."
His rather long monologue over, Shostak accepts one of the lho's from Soap.

"Well, after Wraelis' earlier statements i felt the need to make myself more known so as not to 'hide' in the background, now i havent exactly divulged my lifes story to you all as you dont need to know that.
As for my appearance, is it wrong for one to have some self respect? Especially when any one of us could be picked to be shot at any given time apparently. I always like to have a fresh suit and a clean face, it seperates us from the... animals."

Wraelis raises an eyebrow at Shostak. "Wasn't putting a vote on you, just merely speaking my suspicions. I would honestly put myself in the suspects list for the same reason that I would put you or any of the later votes in there as well. As far as Paimon goes, she makes sense and is quick to action, but that doesn't mean I'm not suspicious of her as well." Wraelis takes a breath and continues, "I haven't cast my vote yet, merely trying to bring evidence out as I see it. As far as this trustworthy list goes that's definitely a hard call. The rest of you, well minus empty that is, all seem like true imperial citizens. But there are those that I have under suspicion which are mostly on the same level for me. Not necessarily accusing them, just having my eye on them. Paimon, while I trust her lead, I'm also worried on someone so quick to act. Shostak, strangely enough on Paimon's earlier point. And finally Rook for inaction in the first round, though he's mostly just an unknown to me and I can respect his actions to withhold a vote in the first round"
Wraelis looks at them all, "Don't think I trust the rest of you, I really don't trust anyone fully. Just merely trying to understand where everyone's coming from and to discover who the traitor is in our midst."

"Piamon is way too ready to point fingers and start the 'mob mentality'."
"If she is the xeno scum we hunt then having us thinned out works to her advantage, not ours".
Rook turns to Paimon "either you take back your vote of Shostak or I will vote for you."

"I have not yet voted. Pointing fingers at people is the way we will force people to defend themselves. When someone is under pressure, their true colours become much more easily noticed. I will never not point out when I think that someone is being suspicious, nor will I allow myself to be bullied into unvoting someone. If you think that my arguments are faulty, then attack them.
"As for the opinion that I am too ready to kill you all consider this: We have got only so much daylight per day, anything that accelerates our ability to find and kill the traitor is a good thing. I am not asking you all to follow me, and yesterday's unanimous vote means that we have less information today than we would have otherwise.
"Your willingness to give full control of the kill to the bugs is highly disturbing..."

"The PDF, the PDF are making a delivery today. Maybe, ...... maybe they can help us. Emperor, this thing will butcher us all, Emperor protect us, Emperor guide us." Jovinus muttered, pealing the window blinds open with two fingers. Clouds of dust, debris, smoke and all other assorted impurities had erupted across the city, the tremors from last night had severed the local power substation. Leaving several of the surrounding habitation blocks without power, elsewhere it had relit fires, its haze and bleached blackness staining the once glistening marble.

emptyhat had been staying quite for awhile whilst he rubbed his head and drank water from a small canteen. Every so often he had moaned softly throughout the discussion as voice rose and fell.
“I’m not surprised you’re all talking about me, no, no. I’m not surprised you’re all pointing at each other. Purple was pointing at me pretty hard yesterday... I think. I think you all were. Wanting to lock us in a room, you thought it was one of us. I didn't want to be stuck in the dark with that.
But I wonder why it killed Dave? He, he didn't vote did he?”

"I admire your faith sir, but don't you think the PDF will have bigger problems other than to find us?" Sneeking a look through the gap in the blinds, he could see a building in the distance on fire, spilling black smoke into the air. Almost as if it had waited for his eyes to be witness, the building collapsed on itself before falling to its side. "Hope this building can take more than that! PDF really are going to be busy..."

"Aww man, we've made 26 humanitarian runs today and that's 10 boxes delivered per run. Come on, that's 260 boxes of miscellaneous supplies we had to deliver to peoples doorsteps." Yelbow whined as he carried another crate from the back of the chimera, "someone going to help me?"
"Go on McGinnis." Ordered Melwinii, tilting his head to the private. "Only way you'll shut him up."
"On it sarge." The more muscular guardsmen of the four man fire team complied with out question, scooping up the handle on the far side of the crate. "Yelbow, you couldn't carry this? Emperor go spend some time at the gym."
"Hahaha," if it was one thing Melwinii loved about his squad it was the banter. Shaking his head to get the smile off his face, he finally gave look to his last trooper in his command. "Gelderous you're with me."
The two men each grasped one of the containers handles, carrying it out of the chimeras rear hatch and down the nature strip. "Habitation block zero-six-two-five, manager last name Jovinus. Now remember what the Lt told us Gelderous, don't get to close to them we cannot risk the chance of infection."
Though what command had told them and what was the harsh reality were 2 different things. "Any of them try anything, you do not hesitate to shoot. You hear me? Did you hear me Gelderous?"

"After we've dealt with the local threat, the survivors can all gather for a solemn burial of our dead. Until then, we can't let anyone go, as they could well be the killer and run off to escape justice." Paimon hesitates for a moment.
"If no one else is going to do it, I'll see if I can talk to the PDF before they take off." She strides to the designated drop off point, cracks the door, and calls out, "Hey, if you've got a second, we've got a problem inside. If you can spare a man, we'd appreciate it."

"Wrap in sheets and tag the body's. We will just have to keep them in an emptie room until we are is a position to bury them. We might want to consider just burning the bodies. They may be infected, but even if they aren't, they will rot".
"As far as the PDF go, Jovinus should deal with them. After all, he is building manager so he would probably be the PDFs point of contact anyway, and to be honest, could do without another altercation with that frakker and his freinds".

After Paimon had stepped outside of the gathering room to speak to the PDF everyone seemed to falls into silence for awhile; perhaps contemplating Soap’s words.

Paimon returns to the group, "I have apparently failed to get their attention, however, as Adkenpachi as said, it is getting rather late in the day. We must vote, or the day will be a waste, and we'll almost certainly find someone else dead tomorrow with nothing to show for it. So I'm going to list again to post again, my list of suspicions from top to bottom.

"My reasons for my suspicions have been stated. And I'm not going to rehash them. It should be standard practice for everyone to be voting for the person that they find most suspicious. There is nothing stopping you from changing your mind, or unvoting if it looks like people are trying to slip a majority in. Vote or die. Those are the options. I choose to

"Rook ill help, we should deal with the gangers body". Soap joined rook and wondered out loud, "How come the PDF didn't have anything for us? I'm happy that frakker isn't coming in, but our supplies will be running low soon!"
"Paimon, I will not be listing who I trust, but I will cast a vote. The reason is obvious. It was his rantings that pushed a vote to an innocent(ish) man, which in turn saved his own skin, but possibly at the cost cos Daves life".
"So, I vote for EMPTIEHAT"

"Anyone want to go off alone with a potential murderer while you are already digging a hole for a body? Think Rook. Either you or the person who volunteers to go with you could well be the killer planning on killing you and making their escape. We need to stick together. Stick the bodies in a freezer or something and tell us who you think is most suspicious. Rank everyone if you can. You can change your mind, but we are running out of time."
