Hi guys,
I make a small call to the community for some tips against those bloody taus. I seriously lack experience against them, and the few games i had against them went real bad.
The taus players in my gaming club abuse of crisis & broadside. They got up to 12 in a 1500 points game.
Could you please share some intell on what to focus & how to avoid loosing all the tanks on turn 1 ?
Apart from those dumb jump suits that allow them to relocate after shooting, they have all those little tiny drone to protect each crisis.

When playing against broadsides you have to treat your tanks like your infantry, keep them in cover and hope for the best. Normally tanks and broadsides have similar ranges so you can park your tanks in cover when deploying and just take shots at each other. Remember that Battlesuits are all T4 so Battle Tank shells are insta-death for them.
With Crisissuits you have to play a little smart and force them into a position where they cant jump out of sight after they shoot. I usually swarm them and force them between my blob squads and my lascannon teams. Most of the time they'll shoot up one while the other shoots the Battlesuits to bits.
Tau are one of the few armies (probably the only one really) where tanks are not the trump cards they normally are. Railguns chew through armor incrediby easy and at longer ranges. The best counter I've found is a footlist of 100+ infantry. Because they have very few blast templates, Battlesuits cant destroy enough infantry to make a difference (assuming they hit and kill every turn, a broadside team of three can only ever kill 21 infantry per game with their railguns).
And the only way to deal with shield drones is to treat them the same you would anything else with an invuln save, force it to roll and eventually it'll roll less than a 4.

An effective solution I've found is Russes (preferably with Camo Netting) sitting behind an Aegis Defense Line. You have the range to hit anything on the board, a 4+ cover save (3+ with Camo Netting), and Battle Cannons are really effective weapons in their own right; you'd be surprised how many things go away when hit by a Strength 8 AP3 pie plate. Place your infantry to protect your tanks from Deep Striking and/or Outflanking 'suits with Fusion Blasters, and you should be good.

I don't know what you have access to but a converted Colossus does wonders to Crisis suits that try to hide behind Los blocking terrain, and massed fire from autocannons and other ranged weapons usually takes care of broadsides. You just need to pour a lot of fire at them without really detracting from the rest of the list.
