Hello there everyone. Some of my friends have done some cool conversions / paint jobs to make certain models look like marvel super heros or villains. So far we have a dark eldar "Green Goblin" Barron, an eldar "Spider-Man" and "Venom" warpspyders, an possibly soon a space marine "Dr. Octopus" tech marine. I was wondering if you could give me some ideas for an Astra Militarum hero or Villain to model / paint.

How about a Leman Russ based on The Haunted Tank?
OK, I'm not sure what you could do to make it stand out (since the Haunted Tank is bog-standard green with maybe a few white recognition stars and a Confederate flag...

I'm not really sure who the haunted tank is..... sorry, but I also had an idea. What about Nork as Bane? Give him a regular ogryn body with a shirt and a bullgryn mask head then paint him mostly black with the white and red around his eyes. Thoughts?

It was a (DC?) war comic, about an M3 Stuart tank haunted by the ghost of its namesake, Confederate general JEB Stuart.

I would just say make it an Ogryn with the maskie as Bane, but not call him Nork. What about some sort of Commissar as The Punisher? You could use a Catachan Command squad guy with an eye-patch as Nick Fury.

Yeah, I might just sub bane in for Nork or a bone'ead when ever I use him. I'm just not a big fan of norms new model.
Nick Furry would be pretty awesome, and maybe even an avengers CCS. I'll have to look into it.

If you're doing an avengers CCS, how about iron man as colonel straken, they're both partially metal men

Wouldn't a techpriest be a better candidate for Iron Man?

And maybe you could paint an Ogryn green and have it be the Hulk/Nork Deddog as a bodyguard?

I thought about a hulk Nork, but I don't know if he would be a big and strong enough model. I think a hell brute or something might be a better size for the hulk.

Someone here posted a hulk inspired Ork Warboss they built for a campaign a year or two ago.

Remember that, at least in the old, old fluff, Ogryns also got on well with Orks if an Ork warband was the first to contact them...

True that. And I've seen multiple versions of the 2nd-ed metal Ogryn with Ork head (it was my own first warboss, and I thought I was so original at the time).

I lurves me the 2nd edition Ogryns. I've got around 30 of them, with about 16 that still need to be painted as I got inspired with the release of Apocalypse (the first time around) to have a platoon of them.
