I think I may have missed something with my Pask/Punisher capabilities....
Correct me if I'm wrong here:
a) Target an AV13 vehicle with Pask/Punisher and rending. b) Let's say I roll 13 hits (with rerolls of 1's due to preferred enemy). c) Then I roll armour penetration and get 4 sixes. (with rerolls of 1's for wounds) d) For each six rolled I get to roll an additional D3 for armour penetration. e) Let's say I get a 1, 2, 3 & 3 for each of the 4 dice. f) I would then get the following armour penration totals: 1st shot = 5 + 6 + 1 = 12 - no affect to vehicle 2nd shot = 5 + 6 + 2 = 13 - 1 glance 3rd shot = 5 + 6 + 3 = 14 - 1 penetrate with no AP 4th shot = 5 + 6 + 3 = 14 - 1 penetrate with no Ap g) 3 hull points and vehicle is wrecked.
Is this right? If so then I'm going to be laying down some more smack on some unsuspecting players the next time I play them. It also makes Pask/Punisher all the more viable for me.

a) Okay. b) With BS 4 and rerolling 1's, you should get 15.56 hits, average. c) Pask does not re-roll 1's on armor penetration checks. He can reroll ANY armor penetration roll he doesn't like due to his "Crack Shot" rule. If he re-rolled everything that wasn't a 6, he'd get about 4.75 rending attacks from 15.56 hits. d) Yep. e, f & g) Two-thirds of shots that do rend will get 13+ armor penetration, or 3.17 hull points removed per gatling cannon burst against AV 13.
Bear in mind that Pask and his mandatory squadmate are going to cost you close to 400 points and will need to cause a lot of carnage indeed to justify their high cost. Pask only gets to reroll 1's to-hit if he's your warlord, and that makes an already fat, juicy target even more irresistable. Pask often finds himself in a hailstorm of lascannon fire, with meltaguns deep striking all around. And he can't always sit in cover and protect himself, because there may simply be no worthy targets within the puny 24" range of his gun. Although he's great against AV 13 and lower vehicles, he can only kill one thing per turn and he struggles against the really big stuff, so you can't leave your lascannons and meltaguns at home.

Thanks for the correction.
I typically squadron and Executioner(or two) with Pask/Punisher. Split fire is good. Really like the Punisher/Executioner theme. People that don't know this threat have been very surprised with my Executioners raining in 5 or 10 plasma blasts and then Pask targeting a different unit that thinks they are going to charge in on them.
And yes - he does become a target magnet pretty quick. I will typically surround him with Inf squads and/or maneuver him to lower the risk of charges or melta attacks. What I found is that I've had some problems with MC's (flying ones especially) charging in and not putting enough wounds on them quickly. Thus the meat shields.
My point was that I had been ignoring AV13 thinking I couldn't do anything to them at all with S5 punisher cannon. And for that matter I was also thinking of his preferred enemy rule that rerolls 1's on hits and wounds but forgot about Crack Shot effectiveness with Armour Pen and vehicles.
Basically I had been playing Pask as Infantry only type weapon with an occasional shots at other targets.. Guess I was too focused on that role vs other opportunities.

I have never used Pask myself, but I have seen him used to great effect. My problem with him is that he's so expensive and it's easy to keep spending more points to make him deadlier or tougher... with his plasmacutioner sidekick, bubblewrap units, dedicated Prescience Psyker and maybe his own Enginseer... eventually the whole army revolves around him. I don't especially want to play that style of army, and it is risky. People who understand Pask's capabilities often want him dead really badly, and will make sure he dies fast.
On the other hand, I need to get busy and paint things for a League coming up in a few weeks, and using Pask can put a lot of points on the table for relatively little time spent painting, so he does have that bonus feature.

hmmm this was interesting, i like the atempt but i dont think i would personally follow up on it. to high of points and ide probably roll below average every time... anyway i treat my entire army as cannon fodder, it leaves no room for points... cannon fodder to protect what??? or distract the enemy from what??? some ask this ... well guess whats around the corner that you didnt see... more cannon fodder.. i dont take units that die easily and are high in points and in the IG everything dies easily. haha so i stick to drowning the enemy in our blood or letting them run out of ammo... Pask doesnt need to be in that sh#t storm but i give you props. Its definitely not something most people would see coming oh look a machine gun, gotta hide my men behind my tank!... OH WTF!?!? haha FMJ
