Anyone playing this, its a hex based strategy game based on the first war of Armageddon, available on tablets etc and "PC" its quite good if you can get past the bad acting simple but fun. Has just about every imperial guard, space marine (standard chapters) and Ork Unit you can think of + some which don't even have models apart from EPic, they even have all the forge world models in the game! So many many tanks for the guard to choose from, and of course Titans Defo worth a look if you like turn based strategy.... link to steam store below ... store.steampowered.com/app/312370/

The Sliverthin one? Looks good. Too bad they don't tend to do sales. (Wasn't the 2nd war the first one with Orks. 1st being vs Chaos.)

Armaggedon looks like a spiritual successor to Final Liberation, which is on GOG for ~$5 (it shows its age but it is still pretty winsome). My main problem with getting Armaggedon is that I'll have to choose between that and Slytherine's CC Panthers in the Fog.

Funny enough I got final lib again on gog the other week and played a bit, defo similar. Only critique of this one is units carry experience forward but more experienced units get hunted down all the time. As there are turn limits you can't hang back in support you often have to keep moving forward exposing units to the enemy.

I ended up getting this. Oh yes . So far I've just been playing the intro campaign but I really like how dangerous Orks are.

it gets a lot tougher and im on normal! it basicly stops you using 10 Baneblades and makes you use balanced forces. reminds me of final liberation when a lifter droppa truck could smash a superheavy tank with every shot lol I think the space marines are a lot more resilient in the addon campaigns but rightly so.

Nout wrong with that, got a few probz with some unit strengths being off like dreadnaughts that can take out stompas but a reaver takes three goes against a mob of gretchin lol

my example probz wasn't the best but for example weapons, lascannons seem to do less damage than plasma vs vehicles. the best unit all round in the game ive found is the warhound titan, its durable and armed with plasma gun and Vulcan mega bolter, brilliant vs infantry and vehicles. I was running 6 of them at the end of the campaign all fully experienced, two warhaounds supporting each of the 3 reavers with loads of guard artillery and super heavy tanks bringing up the rear.

In fairness, IRL, plasma would retain energy better over range than a laser. Both would be kind of poor though, as plasma would act like HE and a laser would be disrupted by dust.
That said, a heavy laser cannon could do serious damage against enemy weak points.
