She needs some tiny cog work pinned covering the joint's of her wings. Maybe some extra bits from a watch maker's kit or some loose gears from your local jeweler or watch maker. Just a final touch suggestion, fascinating kit bash. That's quite a good suggestion, and would avoid me trying to free-hand cog patterns. I'll see if I can find an old watch to take apart, that should do the trick.

I bought a similar pack from ebay a few years back and they've served me well for Orks and terrain.

Oh that's neat. Looks really useful for terrain, too.

So my Eschers arrived this morning. Rather than make gangers, I turned them into a few different units. Note that I still need to clean them up a bit, and add more kit to a few. Death Cultists "Crusaders", using these as storm shields. Inquisitorial acolytes with flamers. The one on the left has a cybernetic flamer arm taken from the Kataphron kit. Those things were absolutely worth it for the amount of kitbashing I've gotten from them. A Rogue Trader's Archmilitant (really an Inquisitor but whatever) and two bodyguard goons. The Archmilitant's weapon is supposed to be an incinerator. I think I need to give her a bit more of a neck...

Now, to answer some questions I know at least a few of you have...
Q: How well do the heads work with Guardsmen? A: Ehhhhh.... They're not ideal. They're a little too small and the hair can get in the way of the guardsman's shirt collar. Guardsman bodies are also very squat and weirdly proportioned, unless you use those from the command squad. Those are better, but you may need some GS in the torso divot where the head normally goes. The Escher heads don't have much in the way of necks.
Q: Well then, can I just build them as guardsmen? A: Sure, but each sprue (which can build five gangers) only comes with three lasguns. There's also an autogun in there though to make up the difference, but you will have to build your squad with a flamer or do some converting. There's also no chainsword, so you'll either have to kitbash one, use a knife as a counts-as, or give the Sgt a power sword.
Q: What kits go well with them for kitbashing? A: In terms of scale, Dark Eldar work very well, and I've used a few bits from Sisters of Silence. Be aware that you can't put Escher heads on SoS or DE bodies (or vice versa) without some work, thanks to the lack of necks.
Q; Those hairstyles look ridiculous, are there any in the box that don't look like they're from a bad rave or an awesome 80's hair metal band? A: The only "normal" hair, at least in my opinion, is the one with the ponytail (see the death cultist on the far right). The good news is you can use almost any face with almost any hair.
If anyone has any other questions about the minis, let me know.

The flamer acolytes look really good. Is middle right acolyte just made of Escher bits?
I also really like the Arch-Militant, I feel as if I should recognise the hat.

Both of the right hand ones are just Escher bits. The Archmilitant's head is another Victoria Minis piece.

Thanks Reds. Those are on my "I am going to get" list. Nice and creative convertions, I like them. BTW how well do the Escher bodies work with other heads, such as the "Hi Tech" head from Vehicle asscesories kit?

BTW how well do the Escher bodies work with other heads, such as the "Hi Tech" head from Vehicle asscesories kit? Do you have a picture? Most guardsmen heads are going to be a bit too big. They also have "necks" that are too big for the head slot, and the collar on the Escher vest will get in the way of the helmet. Even the SoS and DE heads are a touch too big. Heads from Victoria Minis and possibly the TGG2 series are about right.

WiP shot. Annoyingly I may need to paint strip it.

Cool mini! I would personally put it on a bigger base though: that dress might look odd sticking so far out from the base once everything is painted up.

I'm going to have to, I think, which is annoying. I'll swap it after it comes out of the Simple green. And while I'm waiting for it to marinate, here are some mechanicus crusaders. I'll build more once I can find more of my damned combat shields. Also a spare company commander with a boltgun, and an Ogryn bodyguard just because.

That's a really nice gang leader. The flowing dress is so cool, what is the model you are using for it? And why did it need to get paint stripped?

Sorry ´bout the late reply, but this is the head I meant. Yeah, too big. The collars on the Eschers also preclude some of the bulkier helmets, at least on a few of the torsos. That's a really nice gang leader. The flowing dress is so cool, what is the model you are using for it? And why did it need to get paint stripped? Thats Yvraine, from the Eldar triumvarite, along with an Escher head and a Sister of Silence ponytail. I screwed parts of up the dress (hard to tell in the image), the hair, and the face. I cannot paint flesh, period. Before I try to paint any more Eschers, I need to sit down with some painting tutorials on youtube. Something to do during the holiday break I guess.
