So I just played against a super cheesy Gray Knights army. I lost the game 7 points to his 8 but i count its as a victory for a couple of reasons. 1: My scout sentinels killed a Imperial Knight turn 2.
2: My basilisk (after losing its cannon) killed 4 terminators.
3. The game ended turn 5 with my lone commissar in close combat with 3 Dread Knights.
Seeing that commissar alone surrounded by them still alive made my day. Do my fellow commanders have any funny or strange stories about a game?

There was a game between my Imperial Guard and Sister's Orks (neither were very cheesey) where my points lead had narrowed due to a big time comeback from her and the Orks getting stuck in. It came down to my commander and his squad needing to live through two rounds of combat with a CC Deff Dredd to score a draw, or if one of those units died the other person would have won. Captain Testless had his melta bombs but Ork Dredds are dead fighty. In the end everyone in my command squad died but him and he couldn't quite finish the Dredd but it was a very dramatic part of the end game for both of us and I feel he did his duty, holding the line.

I had a 2v2 game where Trooper and I played two other guys, and everyone was running Guard. At one point in the center of the battlefield, one of our opponents had the remnants of an infantry squad (a Sgt and a trooper) charging toward us just to see how far they could get before we shot at them. Instead I had one of my sergeants (who's squad had been shot away) run out and meet them. We all agreed to let the showdown play out in glorious melee.
The other guy got the charge on me, but everybody completely flubbed their attacks.
Then Trooper's Master of Ordnance fired the next shooting phase, scattered badly, and dropped a template directly on top of my Sgt's head and that was the end of that.
That was also the game that featured Trooper's World Famous Catachan Conga Line, a full platoon entering from reserve in parade ground formation. I don't think they took a single casualty.
