PB have changed their ToS which no longer allows free user to use PB for 3rd party hosting (just posting images on a site and not linking the image to PB).
So unless a PB user pays $400 a year they can no longer post images on other websites and all old images are being replace with a PB warning sign.
This means that a lot of images on this forum (including all of mine) are now gone unless the user pays the ransom.
I've been using PB for over 10 years and now all the images I've posted are blocked.

That's annoying. I suppose they want us to pay the fee and buy a mug print of everything we've ever hosted. So if you leave the link in and don't delete it then the pictures stay? Annoying that I've deleted the link for everything so far...

I've only noticed the problem with a select few Brits so far. Not that I haven't run into major problems with the most-esteemed PB...

Yeah, I've only seen it on British users.
PB is spectacularly terrible now, I don't know if they got acquired by somebody or what. Regardless, I'm slooooowly transferring my stuff out of PB, and will try to find another hosting site. Given I have thousands of images, this may take a while.
*Edit* Oops, looks like they hit me in the time it took to post this.

I tried to download Phoobucket when I started to use an iPad a few months ago. But the app that actually downloaded was one called TinyPic and it works ok. Here is a pic of Mrs Cuffs who has, at the age of 44, just discovered Star Wars Lego. Taken 5 min ago. But none of my old photobucket pics came with it. However I still have Photobucket on my iPhone and I can still log into it.

So I've just logged into IGMB on my phone to see if I can put an image up. I'm not saying I can't because PB won't let me, All my old images from years ago are still there, I just can't figure out how to find the way to get the links. This was meant to help ... but it hasn't really.

Does this mean that if I try to link something they'll take my pictures down, or are they going to take my pictures down regardless?
Is this legal? I thought they were a hosting site; you can't change terms and conditions for things done in the past.
What if I just want to go in to the casino, you know, just to buy one of those sandwiches that I like?

So in the past PB has charged for no adverts and extra storage space as seperate things. Is 3rd party hosting going to be a third thing? Or will it all be rolled into one?

It's a third thing, you need to pay even more money. Not having adds was $100 a year, this is $400. Also I found out I need to download all my sub albums separately. Fun.

Last few months its been a nightmare, all those adverts disrupting me. Once it took me 3 hours to upload 4-5 pics (the WIP shots of the grav spider kataphron servitor conversions). Are there any free hosting sites that aren't plagued by spam-disease-advert-pop-ups?

"TinyPic® owned and operated by Photobucket.com, a free Image and Video Hosting company."
I think their about us page needs updating- "That makes it the perfect site for linking to MySpace.com®........."
Does Myspace still exist?

"TinyPic® owned and operated by Photobucket.com, a free Image and Video Hosting company."So that'll be why, when idea to download the PB app, I got tinypic. A shame that none of the pics on PB transferred over though Yes. MySpace still exists, its for oldies like me who are into the "retro social networking" scene

So I just logged into my PB, had a bit of a struggle copying http thing (my old fat fingers are not compatible with touch screen iPads). This is a pic that was sent to me via whatsapp and sent automatically to my PB. The pic, by the way, is one sent to me by another Paramedic who covered the Glenfell fire recovery operation. It was rubbed onto the smoke stained wall by someone unknown but I think it's quite a powerful image. So I thought I'd take this opurtunity to share it.

And this is a pic from my PB library. So the only pronblem I'm having is tapping the screen in a way that I can copy the link (thanks in part to chubby digit syndrome). And every now and then a window comes up tellling me that my iPad has a virus and I have to close down the page and log in again. So not user friendly but I'm still able to use my pics.

Wow, Photobucket's site is becoming so unusable. Probably a combination of old code, weird update features gone wrong, ever pervasive ads that take priority over the actual reason people are trying to load something there, hosting a bajillion images more than they originally expected to, and a lack of money and will to fix any of those problems.

If you want to pay the Photobucket ransom but don't want to pay the £309 they want for Plus 400 then you could see if Plus 20 is still available, it's the one I bought and I think it was £20 a year for 20GB storage and still includes 3rd party linking. That said, they might have shuffled it into retirement in order to try this Plus 400 hustle and just not switched the ToS on people who have paid for the year so maybe I'll just get PB woes when my subscription needs renewal.

When it's time to renew your subscription you won't have 3rd party hosting as thats only in the Plus 400 plan. Thats whats got a lot of subscribers pissed off.

Rats, I did wonder if that was the deal. Well at that point I'll probably just switch to the Google version since they have that vow to not turn evil, unlike PB who, lets face it, we always knew would turn evil.

Are my pics staying up because I haven't tried to load/ link anything new? If so I'll just switch to Imgur as soon as I have something to post.
