WestRider: Yeah but i'm trying to go for colors that don't feel bland to me and that just bugs the hell out of me. I'd rather not have 3 shades of black or gray. At least you gave some advice this time though. That's always prefered over the 'it looks bad and you suck' type of feeling or response. I think i'll fix it tomorrow though. I've spent a while trying to get the colors not looking as bad and you'd be surprised how bad some are. Some are scathing bad. I wish the colors didn't go by number and showed a little bar of the sample color when you chose it. That'd make changing it much easier. I'm still very new at this forum creation thing. Also why do you talk like an english man if you're in the seattle area. Either you're foreign and need to assimilate or your an american that takes an unhealthy obsession with british culture. Either way stop it esp. if you are an american that likes british culture. ------------- Changed the board's color scheme some more. Hopefully that's even better. Once again it's still a work in progress board. Unfortunately this board seems to take way too much of my attention for the seeming lack of members but it's only been a day and a half so whatever. Getting as many visitors as i have with limited advertising should be good enough. Chem said he'd sign up soon. Sorry if i'm turning this into an advertising place but i'm not exactly telling people to join my board in this thread. Just asking for color scheme opinions.

That's pretty basic colour theory. I figured anyone who'd been on modeling and gaming boards for that long would have run into it by now, so I didn't bother with it until it became apparent that you hadn't run into it. Remember, you've got to play to your market. Regardless of your preferences, most people are going to be turned off by a website with a bunch of strong, clashing colours, and you're never going to get much of a community going there with the place looking like that. Regarding spelling, it's not about liking British culture so much as having read way too much Pratchett in Import Editions back before he broke through in the US, which was also when I was at an important formative age. Those spellings just stuck. I have a few others that are more or less of my own invention, and there are a couple of words from foreign languages that have more or less replaced their English equivalents in my brain as well. I take my guidance from Thomas Jefferson, who wrote something along the lines of "It's a dam puir mann who can only spell a wyrd one way."

WestRider: To be fair i use dashes more than most people do for some words. For instant if there's a word that uses over or under before it or similar i use a dash to separate said word. It makes things simpler if it could be confused. For instance red's name as reds-and-royals would never be confused with dashes. You'd be surprised how useful that can be for the internet where spaces don't exist and yet some words need to be together enough so a dash is needed. As far as painting goes i barely paint though the schemes i use i do enjoy. I can tell when colors clash and i knew the site's ones did but i didn't know that was the reasoning. As far as some schemes i've done i have done ghouls in red, green, dark blue, light blue and purple. Now before you laugh at the idea i thought it was good. I think i got inspiration from 'the witcher' and it looks very imp-ish. Imps can range in colors and it gives them a kooky, giggly, drank a little too much alcohol sort of vibe. Gah i think my scheme is still a bit singy. Ugh i'll see if i can work on it another time. It's the light blue color i think this time. Maybe just a little darker would do it. Ok i think i have it now. Also eyesight is for chumps. I should have bright red, yellow, light blue, purple and orange just to burn your eyes till there's nothing left. Rook could handle it and you all love him. Be a Man. Be like Rook.

So, I have endured another sleepless night, although this one was particularly weird. About an hour ago, I got a crazy burst of energy, which I still have. I didn't know what to do, so I just did push-ups until I couldn't lift myself anymore, then waited and did some more. Now my arms are sore. And now I am here. And I still don't know what to do. I have an hour until school.
My econ class started this semester, and I can tell it is going to be enjoyable already. It's kind of a lecture hall setting. There are like 60 kids in one room. Our econ class is really small, since the others are like 90-120 kids. It will be enjoyable to learn what it is like to be in a larger class.

Incidentally, the Grammar Gestapo thanks Westrider for using the correct spelling of "colour. May the heresy of Noah Webster be purged from the face of the earth.

fornicate yanks thinking they can just misspell words and get away with it. Come the re-colonization, you'll all be sent to re-education classes, and learn to spell things correctly. Not use 'like' as punctuation, and learn that 'gotten' isn't a word.

Everywere you go these days, you get some scrawny little skip-rat saying "Brap" or "You gets me fam?" or "yeah blud"..... Society is crumbling on our tiny little island as we are beset by the ones known as.... Tango Whiskey Alpha Tango's.... I personally do not care for such individuals and they annoy me greatly. Why us British people cannot use actual English, I do not know.... But I do know that the English language will not die without me. I for one, at school, was taught actual English, not Charver. I suspect within the next 10 years or so, every family will listen to bassline, talk like a 'Gangsta'(more like a useless waste of space), Will drink cheapo beverages that will cause your kidney's to fail sooner than a blindman playing scrabble and will all get payed from the money of the few who do go out to work's hard earned money for sitting at home and having children so they can get more money. The BNP claim that it is Immigrants stealing our Jobs, But in my opinion, It is no good lay about slobs that have no desire to work for their money that are causing the mountain of a population who are unemployed. Some of you on here may take offence to this, but I for one am just voicing my honest opinion. Dave

Today I feel an overwhelming urge to eat Taco Bell food. I will be venturing out in a bit as a study break to make it happen, and then hit up the grocery store on the way home. Then it's back to work!

Not use 'like' as punctuation, and learn that 'gotten' isn't a word. Better than saying 'right' all the time. *guy's driving while passenger gives directions* "Now i want you to go left." 'Left?' "Right." 'So do i go left or right?' *gets in an accident* I wonder how many british car accidents happen this way. I'll admit i'm not the first to make fun of the british saying 'right' all the time. @orren (oreos, mmm): At least if you pass out a bit it'll be harder to single you out among such a large crowd. @dave: I feel like an ass for this since i'm american but you spelled 'paid' wrong. Haha an american corrects and englishman's english and this time he can't fault it to his version of the language. Really though it's a simple mistake so i won't fault you. You seemingly have better structure in your sentences than me but my spelling is usually pretty spot on. I only have trouble with words that have one or two of a certain letter like 2 p's 2 s's and that sort of thing. Plus bigger words that end in 'ing', 'ed' and that sort of thing can get confusing. I know it's supposed to work that when you say the actual letter of a vowel you don't add an extra ending letter but there are so many exceptions like the word 'ending'. Either that or i remembered something wrong. Then what do you do with a word that has a lot of vowels? The ultimate gentleman also says that he thinks the UK is dumber than the U.S. I don't know if a lot of us can judge as we haven't been to both. Then you have to get through all the preferences and all that crap. I do know most people in other countries still don't go to school as long as most americans. I mean the few schools you have are probably elite and you probably teach the best don't get me wrong but we teach everybody. In my opinion our masses are probably smarter than yours. Your elites are probably smarter than ours but it's hard to say. I do think the average american is smarter than the average person from other countries but it's just a theory. I know you may say our education is worse than other countries but it's hard to teach everybody the best in comparison to a country that teaches the best the best. Then having their scores compared in the schooling and we end up having a terrible rank in education. Thing is you don't take a test for all people in the UK or all people in the U.S. which may be a different story. Also i hate to hear how people talk so highly of europe at times. Listen i get our country is fat but you have as many automobiles, entertainment and good living and we'll see the same happening to you. Being fat means a lot of us are well fed and content which is more than many countries can say. It's bad for you but we're probably not as fat as most think. 20-30 pounds overweight is the average probably (probably 8-12 kg)

@dave: Chips are chips damn it! Stop refering to fries as chips! Also just because i like my fries salty doesn't mean i like them with a little extra flavoring . I know your accent sounds awesome at times but jeez do you ever have the most annoying sounding words. Every time somebody said lieutenant in 'space marine' i wanted to punch the person through the screen. Also flashlights are not torches. Stop refering to them as such. Torches refer to fire and there is no fire in a flashlight unless you magnify it with lenses but nobody's crazy enough to do that. *hides lenses* I know flashlight may seem like a stupid word that is overly obvious at what it does but that makes it easy to learn and remember and not confuse (like the word 'torch'). Anyway sorry but i had to rant.

That's funny. I know virginia was a huge deal back in the early days of the U.S. but during the civil war you were an integral part of the south's war effort. According to my teacher your main weapons factory was in virginia and without it you'd crumble. Of course the confederates lost anyway. They would've lost sooner if it hadn't been for bad ass robert e. lee and his 2nd in command 'stonewall' jackson. Of course there were other jackasses in the army screwing up their great plans (like killing 'stonewall' jackson by accident) and in gettysburg robert e. lee made a mistake which is like the first time during the whole war. He was the best general in that war no mistake but he didn't have the men or supplies the north did. Of course gettysburg happened in part by a lack of intelligence on the enemy position due to a dead 2nd in command. Really i think stonewall jackson's death helped turn it as well. Then again i don't know the subject as well as some and i'm going way off topic. From what i know robert e. lee fought more for family than slavery or anything else. The civil war wasn't as directly about slavery as you might think but it did help cause its end. That war in my opinion was brought about by a lot of stupidity and probably only cost the U.S. since they didn't really gain anything but just kept things. Slavery still could've been ended through some persuasive deals struck between both south and north that would've benefited all but people are stupid and proud so whatever.
@dave: People shouldn't get benefits for not working unless they're finding a job they can get. Of course there are a million exploits to the system like people trying to find jobs they're not qualified for or just not searching for jobs. People that exploit the loopholes in things really urine me off btw. It's part of why this new SOPA bill is a huge pile of crap. Of course we're making laws that throw in some random bull nuts because politicians can. It's like the patriot act. We just groups together a bunch of things and sometimes one or two are dumb as hell but they get passed because we want the majority of what's in said bill and some [not a very nice person] politicians will probably hold out unless certain unlawful ones are passed.
