This is ludicrous! What do you have to do to get the daemon codex?
Edit - Ah ! Pixie tears seems to have worked.
Now I need to work out this dreaded psyker doom army.

A 4.4 foot 3 mini-refrigerator/freezer has been obtained and successfully inserted into the Super Basement TM to cater to guests' beverage needs, both adult and otherwise. Now... GET IN MY SUPER BASEMENT TM! OH NO! NOT THE SUPERBASEMENT! Get. In. It. The Super Basement TM wants all of you to be in it. Resistance is futile. D.o.N.T. resist...

None now that I know the truth. The Blue Scribes can roll on any chart and are immune to any penalties from perils of the warp or 'sacrificing' your psyker to get possessed by a greater daemon, because they're not psykers but the only downside is that they can't get the primaris power. *Braincell explodes* G.I.T.?

OK so daemons can have about 5 level 3 psykers BUT they got totally shafted by the warp storm chart at the end of the book. Holy crap, who wrote that chart, they destroyed the whole army!

How is that different from American variants -- M4, M4A1, M4A3E8, etc, which denote assorted things like place of manufacture, components, armament and other features and are just as confusing? Heck, there was an M3 Light and an M3 medium, and an M2 "combat car," (which was practically the same as the M1,) M2 light tank, M2 medium tank...
Are all those T72s really the same tank, or do they denote manufacturing methods or similar which would be useful to differentiate?

Heck, there was an M3 Light and an M3 medium, and an M2 "combat car," (which was practically the same as the M1,) M2 light tank, M2 medium tank... Are all those T72s really the same tank, or do they denote manufacturing methods or similar which would be useful to differentiate? Pretty much everyone was guilty of horrendous variant naming in WWII and the early 50s. Most NATO nations tended to streamline things a bit more getting into the 1960s and 70s (with the exception of the M48 and M60 series, and to a lesser extent the AMX-30s). The Russians tended to take it to silly extremes, though, since they usually produced tons of variations and ob'yekts for each tank line. Here's the T-72's full list, as an example. Part of it is down to the way the Russians approached tank design, and part of it is down to their general refusal to use monkiers aside from "Ob'yekt" or just various numbers and letters that (to my admittedly Western eyes) make no sort of sequential sense. At least most NATO countries had the decency to designate their tanks in a clear sequential order (Leopard 1A2, Leopard 1A3, etc...), or give them nicknames to help tell them apart, like the base M60 Patton, and the M60A2 Starship. The ones I mentioned as being the same are exactly the same for the purpose of the game I'm modding. They're just the Polish, German, and Czech export versions, but their gun accuracy and AP, armor, rate of fire, stabilizer, etc, are all considered the same. In the game, the Russians have 27 different variants total between the T-55, T-62, T-64, T-72, and T-80 lines, plus a small handful of other tanks, and that's not even getting into the other Warsaw Pact members, or the weird stuff that China and North Korea have. It really is a pain in the butt to try and keep them all straight while modding.

Um, wow. Okay then. Now you know how the Munitorum feels about having dozens of Leman Russ patterns, all the same. In other news, my Dad has committed to take me and my brother on a trip to Britain and Ireland in two months. Catch is, my boss just announced he's about to transfer, and the new one will take over less than two weeks before I leave, so somehow I'll need to run the trip by three different supervisors (my old boss, my new boss, and their boss). There are new drastic rules on how many of us can be off at once, and two months is already cutting it pretty short on the vacation request. On the other hand, I'm starting in Miami, so nonstop flights to Heathrow are easy to come by. That said, anyone in the British Isles who might like to meet up?

Materials to make a sign welcoming victims err... uh, "guests" to the Super Basement TM have been obtained. The nice lady at the Home Depot gave me a 5% discount due to the inconvenience I suffered because the aisle where the spray paints were located was apparently closed, but someone had opened the gate, and I was just at the spray paints (having followed other people in) about to grab the two cans of colors I needed when a staffer came along and shooed everyone out of the aisle because a forklift with a pallet of stuff was due to arrive. When I mentioned this as I was checking out, another staffer went to the aisle and got the two cans of spray paint for me. I also finally found one of those "Pocket Hoses" that collapses down to the size of a loaf of bread from a 50 foot length after the water is turned off and the hose is drained, which will make dealing with hose stuff in my front yard much less of a royal pain in the ass that it currently is. So I'd score that as a win. Imma nip off to the mall in a bit to go see "GOJIRRA!" Hopefully there are no IEDs detonated at the theater today...

Today, my burning hatred of Soviet naming conventions for their tanks grows even stronger. Object 776 or 773? Aaand today, my ex called. She seems to be in trouble. Given the last thing she did for me was attempt to trash my reputation amongst everyone I care about, I am wary about helping.

Oh, and Wargame: Red Dragon is 33% off on Steam right now, so you all should buy it because it's an awesome Cold War RTS.

Today's initial trend of awesome took a massive dump when, after seeing "GOJIRRA!!!" I hit up the microbrewery-restaurant that I like at the mall, and learned that both the brewer and manager, whom I both considered to be personal friends (the brewer lives just down the road from me in one direction while the main daytime bartender--who is very disgusted by the events and is thinking of leaving--lives just down the road from me in the other direction, and they all went out of their way to greet me and chat with me whenever they saw me at the bar), had been fired with no notice for purely political reasons and bullnuts excuses were made to justify the sacking of the brewer (the new manager cited "declining quality of the beer" which is an absolute, outright lie as the quality of his brews, which was already high when I first started going there in 2006 or so, has only been improving over the years). I'm working up the ANGRINATOR to send a suitably Bhut Jolokia-level of anus-reaming-hot-enema e-mail to the chain's corporate office informing them that I am extremely displeased by this development, and the lack of loyalty they displayed towards employees who had been at the location since it opened, and who were huge drivers of its success to date, is forcing me to re-evaluate my continuing patronage of their establishments, and that this re-evaluation is not favorable for them.

Word of mouth, Trooper. What's the place? It's the Gordon Biersch at Tyson's Corner mall. In other news: Creation of the "WELCOME TO THE SUPER BASEMENT TM" sign has commenced. So far I've managed to drill holes for hanging it through the metal plate without drilling through myself, ground down the sharp edges (Caution: This Sign Has Sharp Edges) around the holes without slicing myself, and have applied an initial coat of gloss black to the metal plate.
